Definitely Prince. His voice has never sounded like it does when he performs Bob George on the Lovesexy video either, doesn't really mean anything. But, if you listen to that version on the VHS, you can hear the way Prince pronounces the words is very similar to the album version.

Marrk - wouldn't your theory also make this the only Prince song on a Prince album where the lead vocal is NOT Prince??!! (not counting duets, natch, like U Got the Look, Arms of Orion, So Far, So Pleased etc). In fact, Hallucination Rain has Sonny T on lead vocal, but it ain't a Prince album.

It's just performed too well for it to be anyone else.

Well, on the video you can see Prince sing it live with an altering of the voice which sounds exactly the same as on the album.

To speed up the mp3/wav you just need a simple piece of mp3/wav-software which supports this. I don't think windows has a standard piece of software who can do this.
Go to www.download.com and download a program which allows you to mix your own songs. This will be able to speed things up a bit. May also be kinda cool with the camille songs, to slow them down. And you can reverse the reversed parts of Darling Nikki and others...

It's Prince's voice manipulated somehow...but still Prince. It wouldn't be the first time he's used effects to change his sound...the Camille tracks ect.

But, seriously now, it's definitely Prince.

And if you're not convinced, a spectograph will give you a perfect match, no matter how electronically distorted his voice is.
