i dont remember what the names of all the songs i took out were, because.. i totally deleted them lol so.. =p

Interesting. You might want to revisit some of those extra tracks. "My Computer"? Some of those are great. Also check out the live version of "Face Down" from Roseland '97 (Days of Soundboard, vol. 1). It will make you rethink the Emanicpation version.

'Crucial' alone elevates CB above Emancipation. Even if it were a one-song-album, it would be better than E. But we also get Sexual Suicide, Last Heart, Dream Factory, Crystal Ball, Cloreen Baconskin, Movie Star, Hide the Bone?

Yep. CB for me.

Neither one is better than the other; both albums have select good songs...and mediocre songs.

I swear this exact thread has existed before... maybe more than once.

And don't nobody get any panties in a bunch about my comment, either. I'm not talkin' shit, just makin' an observation.

OK, sure if you like. We'll say Emancipation is Apples and Crystal Ball is oranges. OK. But once we get past that, do you like Apples or Oranges better?

18 and over, I wants ta bone ya

But serously I cant decide. Emancipation is quite a fantastic Prince album, to say Emancipation is weak is very very wrong.

Ah screw it, I'm going with Emancipation. Joint 2 Joint, Mr Happy, Sleep Around, Right Back Here In My Arms, Emale, One Of Us, so many great songs! Emancipation all the way, definetly one of his best albums.

Apples. Although orange juice goes better with booze.

Emancipation is a cohesive whole. Crystal Ball is a box of odds and ends. We don't listen to them in the same way.

Been listening to CB and it's a lot better than I had thought, not sure how I feel about Movie Star, Good Love, and Cloreen Bacon Skin which're potentially grating for obvious reasons........

I still take Emancipation but CB is far more than just the 4 or 5 classic songs within.

^Right, the song "Crystal Ball" alone is better than anything on "Emancipation"!

Exactly what I was about to type!!! This track alone is worth more to me than all of the Emancipation tracks combined. Like some of the other posters said that album is way too light on the funk and way too heavy on the sacharine...
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...
