Rate the NPGMC "ahdio" volume CD album releases

In the years 2001-2002 there were a total of 11 "Ahdio transmission" CD's. The first hour of each CD was in the format of a "radio broadcast" and included rare mixes / performances / versions of previously released Prince songs, with a song here and there by one of Prince's "protoges". The rest of the CD was comprised of about a half a dozen or so NEW songs.

Basically, during that time, members got a brand new album every month.

There were 11 of these albums released over a 12 month period. Some of these albums were 2 CD sets.

For those of you lucky enough to have these CD's, rate each one of them on a scale of 1 - 10 as albums of their own in thier own right.

(PS what got me thinking about this was someone on Ebay was selling a complete set of NPGMC CD's recently)

These were originally just broadcasts on the NPGMC web-site.....The Cd's you talk of are just Boots with a MP3 sourced audio and bonus tracks....but justt Boots

As mentioned by jfrost, the Ahdio shows were never released on cd.

Each show was no longer than an hour (some were just over).

The cd's on ebay will be crappy mp3 sourced discs that some some snake has put together for a quick buck.

All the Ahdio shows can be found online for FREE, just do some searching.

Here is more info http://www.princevault.co...PGMC_Ahdio

Please don't be fooled by some hype on an ebay listing.

As for the actual content, besides the awful mp3 bitrate, the shows were quite enjoyable, the early shows with "dj's" were a bit annoying though, I liked the later shows where it was just like a continuous mix of music with no chat.

Worth grabbing, IF you get them for free.

Where did you get all those inventions?

I'd suggest you'd learn your lessons before posting. Mind you, you're not 'asking if', you're 'stating that'.

Lots of inaccuracies.

And, as suggested, learn your lessons very well before dealing amongst the cheaters at eBay.

^Some people try to fix and improve their files and they store them in flac so that the fixings and improvements do not unnecessarily lose quality.

My apologies to everyone. The guy on Ebay says these are official releases - and some of them STILL SEALED at that, so I assumed that these were available as hard copies.

Thanks for the head up, I had no clue!

No need to apologize, just be very careful when looking at NPGMC material on ebay. They did sell some genuine physical cd's, but the download stuff was just that, download only, and no matter how good these cd's look or the seller saying they are very rare promo copies, they will be fakes.

Yeah, but you can't improve a file in a lossy, low quality format by converting it into one that isn't. You can tinker with it, but it's still going to sound like shit, no matter what you do.

I think some of the improvements made by some people have just been fixed skips/glitches in the downloads and sorting out light distortion etc (C-Note comes to mind), then instead of re-compressing them back to a lossy format they were converted to lossless to avoid that. But I see what you are getting at. It would be nice to have had all that stuff in proper lossless, maybe one day neutral .
