How does Prince square his religious views which presumably advocate modesty and kindness with his continued arrogant, pretentious and hypocritical behaviour? He has a huge and quite fragile ego, has mistreated fans and colleagues over the years, criticises what he sees as lax moral standards today yet ignores his own past (he prefers to avoid questions about his past). He trades on his past hits to turn a profit yet eliminates undesirable lyrics as if changing a couple of swear words will make the song ok morally ( a bit like saying 'sugar' instead of 'shit'), which seems to be insignificant compared to the big moral issues that religion addresses. I know he's only human and we're all guilty of hypocritical behaviour in our lives but the fact that he repeatedly airs such contradictory views and displays such hypocritical behaviour (criticising current artists who use sex to sell their image and product!) makes me question his supposed intelligence. He seems to have a complete lack of self-awareness and appears to be masochistic in his desire to attract criticism. The frustrating thing is that it is so plainly obvious to many on this site what Prince could do to consolidate and even build upon his legacy (e.g. release live DVDs) as well as improve his PR by not keep banging on about money issues and how the music industry has fucked him and others over in this time of recession (where public sympathy is minimal).

WOW! I think it goes to show you...Same Ole Prince with different Comments and different issues. I think his longtime fans know about how he doesn't realize he is CONTADICTING himself. I mean how can he Comment on what MUSLIMS OR WOMEN LIKE ? Look at how TOM CRUISE got in TROUBLE talking about BROOKE SHEILDS taking ANTI-DEPRESSENTS after Childbirth. I mean is TOM CRUISE a WOMEN who gave Birth or BROOKE SHEILDS for that Matter? I think if people want to stay cool in the media they should stay away from OPINIONS or POLITICS and just stick to MUSIC. But Prince does like STIRING UP CONTROVERSY.... THat's for SURE.

I agree somewhat with you, but only on the statements reffering to the present, you cannot continually judge someone or refer back to someones past. Prince is Prince, yes he has an ego. But Im sure P has a gentle side, Ive heard him say some incredibly nice things, & he's constantly trying to inspire people to love. He also donates alot of money to many charitys (seems to have a soft spot for children)

Now i'm sure he has a lot of growing to do, just like the rest of us. But who knows who he is behind closed doors? We just continue to make speculations do to his past, or the little we know, aint nobody really no nothing about this ever changing man. & Prince is to blame for the speculation, his fault. & honestly we dont always act in the way, in which are religion condones. Some traits just never die off, sadly that is the case with Prince.

Plus we all just paint a picture of Prince in our head, some which are equally a mix of good & bad, others more bad than good, vice versa.
