Worst Fashion: 80's Prince, 90's Prince or 00' Prince? I have never seen Prince wear anything I remotely thought was dope at all! I love the guys music, but I hate the guys fashion sense.
But what period do you think was his worst clothing wise?
Which period do you think is his best? الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

the 1980's was his best, the clothes reflect his music
I think 2nd may be the 2000's even though I do like his Rave look
I'd say the worst was 1990's sometimes to taylored looking to clean to styled

The worst was in 1999 when he was running around in those kooky one-color sequined pirate costumes with matching bandanna, huge sunglasses, and a weave.

The Gold era-terrible outfits

I concur. I don't like him in this syling. It looks to confining and severe on him particularly when performing it had to be constrictive. Prince's Sarah

I agree! "You need to laydown and let me show you how we do this thing up in funky town. From the heart of Minnesota here come the purple Yoda guaranteed to bring the dirty new sound! Come on, now!"

Never liked Prince´s androgyny. IMO, the ´coolest´ Prince was SOTT. I like the Controversy era (punk) and Diamonds and Pearls. I liked the ´clean´ Prince on ONA era too, with suit.
IMO, it would be cool if he wore less make up.

You don't think Controversy and D&P were androgynous looks??

Probably the worst thing I've ever seen him wear is that cheap-looking gold travesty he had on Lopez whilst attempting to play Laydown.

- Yes, they were. But Controversy, compared to Dirty Mind G String (is that the word?), is very masculine

I think the 90s were the worst - the stuff he wore around "The Beautiful Experience" era, to be specific. He wore some really crazy shit then.
He made up for it in the 2000s, though . "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

Prince is flamboyant...
You should try and live with that.
Prince 4Ever. | |

You couldn't touch him in the 80's because those clothes were representing the music and his creativity. They were outlandish at times but so was his music/lyrics.

uh.....we've all lived with it. But everybody doesn't like it though.... الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

I can live with some of it no problem.
But still, he has moments where even I go, "What the fuckity-fuck?!" "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

That's one of the reasons why I love his ''image''. I love his outfits! I don't think none of the era's has bad outfits. I like them all.

'80s > '00s > '90s | |

Hmmm, the old man zoot suits of the 00s are kinda boring, but they're not exactly horrible fashion, so I guess the 90s. The NPS and Rave eras were particularly horrible, and there were some awful things around Come/Gold (esp. for MBGITW video/TV/awards performances) - there were those cheap sequined bolero jackets in an array of gaudy hues that would suit a little old lady on a night out at the bingo and not much else.

The only '90s attire I like were the see through stuff and whatever he was wearing during the Gold Experience era. Other than that... *thumbs down*

I loved his mid 90s fashion. Flamboyant, stylish, somehow clean, but still "edgy" and "dirty". Cool.
I appreciate the Lovesexy stuff, but I just don't think it looked good on him.

The 90s, particularly the 1994/95 Typhoon hairdo and the cocaine white look of the Gold experience era. It was hideous. Also that horrid Rave look he had and the gay as 1991 look with that gold turban and the assless pants (Jamie Foxx did that so well)
The 80s was the best but it varied from the supercool Dirty Mind and Parade era looks to the dreadful Purple Rain period and Lovesexy looks.
The 2000s is neutral he's played it safe, he looks mostly respectable in his well tailored suits and outfits, Prince is proving hes a great dresser.
What about the 70s, he rocked the Afro and the Kiss Curl look. [Edited 6/29/11 4:40am] Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Prince totally killed the "rock", making it his own Then he started from scratch I guess with changing out rock in the Parade era and going with his own designing. Very cool how his fits evolved over the years. Within eras his clothing becamse better and better. Changing out of eras, clothing became different and unique each time.
Although I admit with Controversy, he was a blank slate, lol, with the schoolboy clothes Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!
