This is obviously the funkiest song on there.

Not the BEST, I said funkiest. The best are "When the Lights Go Down" and "5 Women".

But "Sarah" is the funkiest, and one of the most underrated Prince tune of all time, IMO.

I jam along to this album on guitar all the time and "Sarah" is one of the best to jam to (although the whole album is perfect for jamming, really)

Who else digs this underrated funk gem? It kind of has a funky Stevie Wonder vibe to it, I think.

I agree, it's a very nice song. But I heard the alternate
version a few times and it features the guitar a bit more
to the front and a little bit louder. I thought that did
work a bit better with that song.

The version on "The Vault" sounds a tad bit restrained
when compared to the alternate take.

But still, it's a cool song and I play it very often.

Nonetheless its a great short throwaway song with some funny lyrics (not sure if Tina saw the funny side tho!)

Allot of people dont like the Vault, I think it's great. I was very happy when it came out. Very fresh sounding, all the songs are very different but the album has a nice flow to it.

Sarah is one of my favorite songs on "The Vault" -it never fails to put me in a good mood and it's great dance/exercise music - gets rid of stress real quick!
I was amazed the first time I heard "The Vault" - didn't even know Prince wrote songs like that until then.
I'm so glad I discovered it and all the other great music Prince has given us recently.
BTW - the last Las Vegas concert was awesome! I really hope there is Celebration this year, but if not, I'm really looking forward to more music from this very talented guy (who I can now call my "brother")
I rarely post here anymore, because there is so much negativity and hate now, but I'm all for giving props and showing appreciation.
May we live to see the dawn and celebrate music forever!

I think Its About That Walk and Old Friends for Sale are the real gems on that album.
