Purple Rain DVD to be rereleased in Japan? Found this while surfing the Net:

Hmmm, and not anywhere else. Probably because us americans and everyboady else except for japanese people are too greedy and are always asking for more. Like that purple rain petition.
Prince respects those japanese people, not us. For example, When prince did the D and P tour, he had those tamboriens on the first couple rows so everyone can play along. And the only people to not walk home with them were, u guessed it, the japanese. Not putting Us down, its just the truth. its how we were brought up, the digital haze got to us. Who knows maybe it will be released here, but just my theory. But thats if its a special edition, if its just a rerelease, then this happens all the time to old films. | |

Yes - how greedy of me to want Purple Rain re-released so that it actually looks like a real dvd (Widescreen, new transfer and remastered soundtrack) and not the current pan-and-scan crap with no extras that is currently released in region 1. I mean, most of us buy everything Prince puts out - so of course we're greedy. The Japanese fams can keep their tamborines - i want a proper release of Purple Rain on DVD!!! Nobody is askin for his crown jewels from the vault on this.He can keep his vasulted material ..there is nothing wrong with wanting what is released to be updated etc. Thats not greedy.
