New Live DVD???

Who thinks Prince is going to release a DVD of the W2A shows? After watching the footage from Grand Journal it seems he just might finally do it!

U might not like the taste, but I'm still going to stick your face in this Funk

No, he won't. And nothing about that show has displayed any sort of inkling he would.

He records all of his shows.

He occasionally allows some of that material to be broadcast for promotional purposes, as was the case with medley of video clips shown during the interview on French television.

No suggestion of a live DVD.

There's some really great pro-shot footage on YouTube (although I can't find it again now). 1 video is about 10 minutes long and has some real crowd pleasers - it's such a shame because just one of these DVDs would compensate for a lack of decent CD output, he'd make money and the fans would actually get something instead of a constant dressing down.

The footage shown during the inteview made me think about the question. At some point, you would think Prince would put a DVD out. And the fact that he's shown live footage on two different progams gives me some hope. Not holding my breath though!

ONE DVD would be wonderful after 8 years, but I can't help but wonder... what sense would it make to release ONE DVD out of the hundreds of recorded shows Prince has in his vault... What we needis an archive program and the only way such an amount of material can be released is an internet website... But this won't happen anytime soon (if ever)... sad

It´s one of my biggest complaints about Prince. He records all of his concerts and doesnt release them. His last official release is from 2002! It´s ridiculous.

I hoped he released Montreux, Coachella, London, but it seems he doesnt. Maybe after he dies, who knows?

We can only hope and pray that this footage will find its way onto an official concert dvd release someday. I wish Prince would understand that there is a demand for such items. I know it's not the same as actually being at the live concert, but it would certainly be nice to have as a keepsake memory, and of course it would also enable those people not fortunate enough to have attended the live show, to be able to share in the experience they missed. It's such a shame that the only way we ever get to see this kind of thing is on an often poor quality bootleg dvd!

Prince, if you're reading this, and if you did record those 2 shows in Montreal June 24th/25th 2011.

PLEASE RELEASE THEM ON DVD.

I'll do whatever you want! Ask me anything! If there is anything you want to leave us, it's that, the whole thing, the 7h30 hours show you did this weekend.

beg beg beg beg

Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

True, Digital is doo doo. I hope all of the shows he has filmed are being done so on VHS cameras.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Why don't you people download the concerty dvd's that are available now?

Fuck waiting on Prince, there are tons of great gigs out there, sure, some of them are shit, and in crap quality, but there are also a load of lovely pro-shot concerts from all stages in his career in fucking great quality.

A lot of these shows are put together with and for the love of the music, and not for $$$. As a result, you are getting (in most cases) a full unedited show, with top notch picture quality and sound, material that otherwise will probably never see the light of day under Prince's say so.

Do yourselves a favour, stop whining and start downloading. Until someone gives Prince a reality slap check, it's all we have.

Some do yes, some just don't know what is out there, which is fine, we were in the same boat once, I know I was.

There are others though who think that the bootleg route is evil blah blah, they are the ones that would rather start a thread every few months "asking" Prince to release a dvd which has been all but technically raped of all goodness.

Oh well, back to me boots. lol

Yeah and I'm on that boat, I don't download on the net, don't know where to search, don't have any downloading programm on my comp, I want the real thing, official, so he should be happy to get the money from what he does...

He says artists make no money today..

But he doesn't release concerts on DVD, he doesn't release his albums in stores... how can you make money if we have nothing to buy...

Prince, baby, do that first, get your check, and thank us by giving us more, it's a give/give thing.. you give, we buy, we buy, you give.. it's called recognition from us for your talent, and recognition from you for us being faithful. Simple. It's all Love baby.

I agree with you.

I want to see this material, Prince is not releasing it, so i'm going to find it regardless of that fact.

If he were to release unmolested official live shows then I would be in the line to buy them, and be happy to do so.

And yes, he could make quite a considerable sum from selling this type of thing. In fact he could probably make more from dvd releases than stright forward audio.

But as per....what the fuck do I know?

Agree. DVDs are a lot harder to download. And every fan would buy it (not to mention people who would love a DVD with some hits).
