HypnoParadise. - An underrated modern soulfunk classic. Any takers?

So massively Funky!! The Keys and bass are almighty. And Prince's vocals are on point.

It's an NPGMC classic. Rarely discussed it seems.

Who are the players on this?

Info on these tracks seems to be scant http://www.princevault.co...noparadise

Not my favorite from The Slaughterhouse, but on the whole, it's a funky enough tune. Hypnoparadise is no worse than some of his more recent shite.

Some of the NPGMC tracks were good, plastic, but good plastic.

I love it. Paired with Golden Parachute, the two are gems.

I have never liked this song: Hypno Paradise.

It's one of the weak songs from Chocolate Invasion/ Slaughterhouse.

(I like about 15 out of 20 of those songs).

It makes me think of a video like in "The Wiz" when they get to Oz's place which is the World Trade Center Towers, and all the fancy city folk are in the plaza dancing and the colors are changing.

Should be dubbed on top as a bootleg video... I should do that! Is The Wiz on blu-ray?

Me and my friends really liked this tune because it was so different. We like it when Prince does different from his past (or anyone's past).

a truely horrible train crash of a record.

Get rid of that dreadful 'hypnotic' sound that jizzes all over the track, and there's something half decent underneath. Something with Stevie-esque keyboards... but the the drenching of hypnojizz kills any funk dead for me.

blah blah blah

Woah. I was actually listening to Hypnoparadise for the FIRST TIME as I saw this thread. Very strange.

My thoughts: It's a fun song. Probably my favorite on Slaughterhouse, but that's not saying much. Slaughterhouse is a mishmash of unfocused funk and jams. Chocolate Invastion, on the other hand, has some top notch stuff -- When I Lay My Hands on U, Supercute, Underneath the Cream, Vavoom and High are better than a lot of stuff he's officially released in the last 15 years.

Still... what a funky coincidence.

Great track! It has a fantastical vibe to it which I love. Definitely underrated, but all of his music from this era usually is.

cool

Poor enough by his previously high standards, but I bet Janelle Monae loved it!
