most valuable official prince cds...?

just wondering what the most valuable official prince cds would be now....i saw the 'one nite alone' cd going for over a 100 pounds on ebay not that long ago and the 'rave in2' remix album going for 70 pounds ...i dont know if any official 1987 edition 'black album' cds were ever produced but if they were...i would think that would be the most valuable...?

I really never should have thrown away the case for my RaveIn2 CD. At least I kept the disc and booklet.

I would say the same about the longboxes that some of my old CDs came in. Apparently those can fetch $100 or more today. I just didn't have room for them.

Last year I uploaded all my CDs to my computer and gave the local public library some of the ones I didn't listen to as much. One was a promo CD single of Alphabet Street. I see now that is worth at least $50 or more. They don't have it in their catalog so they must have sold it. I hope the library got a good price for it, but I doubt it. sad Probably they sold all my stuff in bulk and some random person ended up making a nice profit on eBay.

I have that German gold disc edition of "Around The World In A Day", and I've seen it go for over 100 quid before. And the best part is, I got it for 5, and didn't even realize I had a rare edition until years later when I saw it mentioned that there was a rare gold disc German version.... looked it up and lo and behold, the catalogue numbers matched. Happy smile

I have Rave In2 also, but that's only become rare quite recently. It was only a few years back that you could get it for $20 or so from the merchandising company that Prince had been using. I knew I should have bought a few more copies! lol

Yeah remember when Prince used musictoday as his merchandise company, they were awful, i'd ordered 2 copies of the Aladdin dvd, 8 weeks later no dvd, after emailing them they sent 2 more only to have my original 2 arrive aswell! bonus! i sold 2 on ebay for £20 each. this was before they were available for retail. mind you that was when Prince DID merchandise. i can't believe he doesn't even have a news page like 3121.com.

I had that, and it was in my car stereo when it got stolen!

Strange how some of the high priced items were sold off so cheap. I bought the 5 copies of the Crystal Ball 5 disc for £5 each.

I sold some NPGMC singles, MPLS, The Truth, In2, One nitet alone and a punch of the rarest 80's 12" and 7 in" singles for a little over £2,500.

Pussy Control was pressed up as a 2trk promo (with I think 319?) It was a picture disc cd. Pussy Control was withdrawn as a release on it's own.

Well into 3 figures for that cd (if you can find one). lol

Yeah I sold my spare ONA for £85 about 2 years ago. I still have the other copy but it's been played once...after that I realised it was a piece of crap and have been thinking about selling it too....but I'm undecided, it's collectable and, when he goes surfingon the lake of fire in a few years, it'll be worth more.....still, its just sitting there and if prices exceed £100 on eBay I could be reconsidering soon

Yeah, the ones that sell for over £100 are usually always sealed. I'd just keep your copy for a while, see what happens with the prices.

I still have my opened copy, and another sealed copy, but i'm going to keep a hold of the new copy for a few years (probably) unless prices really rocket.

Genuine copies of The War on cd are making silly money at the moment too. £150-£200 easy.

Why would you do that? It's not as if a cd (in a normal jewel case) takes up a lot of space.

lol Hopefully the shop you sold it too would have sold it cheaply too, nothing would be worse than a shop in the know selling it for mega bucks.
