"Love Bizarre" (technically it's a "Prince" song) I would say is the first one that I really fell head-over-heels for the FIRST time that I heard it.
i heard a love bizarre in 1986 & instantly fell in love with it, wasn't a prince fan.. it was a 'holiday' song & the club went crazy each time it was given spin, it was like nothing i ever heard!!
i remember trawling the shops like a thing possessed to find the record but had to buy the whole sheila album to get this song! the last thing i could afford to do but luckily i learnt to enjoy the other songs
there are lots of other songs i loved on 1st listen but stuff that went on major repeat after hearing once include
nothing compares 2 u! .. sinead version
free!
paisley park!
a case of u!
sott!
controversy!
when u were mine!
question of u!
we can funk! outtake
7!
resolution!

she's always in my hair & gold!
i like it there/in2 the light!
lavaux & colonized mind!
more recently.. i wonder |

In All My Dreams
No Light In A Large Room
There Is Lonely
but... the song that actually grabbed me out of the malaise that was British Popular Music in 1986, and the song that made me realise that all the songs I'd liked recently had been by a bloke name Prince, was Anotherloverholenyohead. |
