You lucky devil!
I just discovered this song today and I've been a fan since the 80's.

Does this song sound like a certain singer/songwriter that Prince greatly admired?

Where were you looking at in 1993 when it was officially released?

After really studying the detail and depth of the meaning and levels of attitudes it has spoken to me; since I have heard it for the first time 2 months ago; I think NOW I can say that it has earned the spot in one of my FAVORITE SONGS EVER!. Lol. I don't think I am too early to say it's one of my favorites either.. It's genius! The lyrics speak to me in so many levels, it's for sure one of his best compositions; in my opinion. It's Button Therapy, Baby!

That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

One of my fave tracks of all time.
What is interesting, anytime I have played this to my boyfriend, family, or friends they HATE it. A couple friends who are minor Prince fans sort of like it. But the rest yell anytime I try to play it in my car or it comes on my ipod at dinner or when people are over. Have never been able to figure that one out.

Something must be wrong with me... I feel totally ambivalent about this song. No matter how many times I listen to it it just doesn't take me Maybe someday I'll have an epiphany... it took me awhile to get on board with 'Adore'.

Nothings wrong with you.
It sounds musically like a Joni Mitchell type of arrangement from my viewpoint. Vocally its beautiful going from his falsetto to lower register so effortlessly.

Probably because it has a meloncholy feel to it, it sounds/feels sad. I love it
