One of the dopest trax Prince has ever done - lyrically it's deep and melodical, with a pumping beat that catches you through it's uniqueness (- the well-known, much talked about fact that it has no bass guitar!).

I was just wondering, for such a great song, did the promo video shot in '84 do it justice?

It must have in a way 'cos it shot to number 1, but I was just thinking how it would be to create a whole new idea for the video to "When Doves Cry"...
