I was just watching VH1 in Europe and Alphabet Street was presented as the #1 80's song! Great song and Lovesexy truly a unique album. Reminds me of the Lovesexy tour and memories from the Oslo show in 1988. What a show that was! Still my best live experience of many...

utter bollocks, sure it's a funky track but there's a tonne of songs by other artists way ahead of this and lets not forget his own 80's catalogue kicks this ass hard!, lol are really saying it's better than SOTT, when doves cry, P.Rain etc!

I find it very easy to compare a great Prince song to songs by other artists...to me there is nothing better than a great Prince song! And in my opinion Alphabet street is a great Prince song. I may like SOTT, Purple Rain and When Doves Cry more, but that's not the point. Alphabet street is a great Prince song and therefore it deserves the #1 spot!

The 7"/Video version probably deserves a top ten spot. The album version does not.
