La la Means ( I Love You) Do you like his cover of the delfonics hit? Personally i think he sings it better because of his vocal range (my opinion) What i still have yet to understand is that he hates it when someone covers his music, but yet he covers other artists' songs without hesitation! Pure contradiction but thats Prince for ya! here is the link for the people who have'nt heard it yet

I don't recall him ever saying he hated people to cover his songs. Oh but I agree on his version of the song.

I don't usually like covers, especially not of my favorite songs, but I absolutely adore Prince's cover of this song. I like it just as much (if not more sometimes ) as the original. I don't like his cover of Betcha By Golly Wow though.

yep your right.... and every song nowadays is a cover or a sample from other music. I can't name one song that i listened to that have'nt been covered or sampled

Yeah music nowadays isn't as original as it used to be. Everything on the radio sounds almost the same not. Almost every song on the radio has to remind you IN THE SONG who they are by singing their name in the beginning. Hate to say it, but its true.

"I'll sing your songs, but I really don't like it when you sing mine."
maybe it's kinda like God can become whomever he wants, but no one can pretend to be God and expect to be believed lol

This is beautiful. Chante' Moore has such a pretty voice. Her voice complements P's, and it blends so well. I'm lovin' on this one. This version is really, really nice.

I love this song...gotta love the smooth intro! I love MJ to death but when it comes to this song...I still prefer Prince's version to Jackson 5's lol

The amazing thing about his cover of this and also betcha by golly wow in some respects is that Prince owns them both with his vocal range but in doing so the originals are left almost unique and untouched when listening back! Don't know how he does it but he does it with aplomb! Quality and the sign of a musical genius Where have all the raspberry women gone?

I like The Jets' and Swing Out Sister's versions better than the Jackson 5's and Prince's. Although I've liked all the versions I've heard. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I love his version.. and, (pardon me Mike) I even like his version better than the Jackson 5 one His voice range is simple genius on it, good job Prince! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

just my $.02, but what i get out of his comments about cover songs is when songs get covered nowadays poeple dont pay respect or acknowledge where those songs come from. so many young people hear songs that are actually covers but think they are something new and think these new artists are so amazing when what they are actually enjoying is either covers or samples of older tunes.
