The guardian interview will be a disaster for his carreer If it is legit, it will harm his carreer a lot.... Such crazy statements about islamic countries and their dictatorship.... IF it were his words, he is such a big idiot [Edited 6/23/11 4:50am] [Edited 6/23/11 4:53am]

How many threads on this subject do we need?
I'm guessing one.

I don't think it will be - Prince has said controversial stuff in interviews that a lot of people don't agree with, before. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

Probably more than one, because this will be a big issue everywhere...

The biggest disaster for his career is his own attitude towards everything.
Starting with his fans.

Yeah, everybody should pretty much expect to see a TON of threads about this. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

Yes, it'll be an uphill struggle to get people to indifferently pick up his next album as a covermount with the weekend paper. "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin

^Nah, it'll come with the next Watchtower issue.

See, we joke about that now, but you know it's coming... "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin

What do you mean? Maybe these were not his exact words, but it will be a very big issue in the press and amongst fans... Usually if you give an interview as a politician or celebrity the interview must get an approvement before...So i fear these were his words And it fits with some things he said over the last years...

It will only a big issue if you make that. The article is probably BS or just wildly exaggarated. The papers/mags in the UK love to tear people down and try to make them look screwed up or crazy and Prince will be on top of there list for that. Don't believe the hype.

It's just promo for the July show right?
Regarding the article being BS or exaggerated - The Guardian isn't the Daily Star, it's a newspaper not a tabloid - one of the very left that actually still do some investigative journalism.
I look forward to reading more fuckwittery from Prince tomorrow.

reading his 'quotes' was a total disappointment. i am sincerely glad i parted ways with this guy's philosophy back in 2001

All the papers are fuckery and we know this. How many times have their little back pages articles where they've had to later apologise for stuff being legally incorrect.
God to hope this isnt true. If it is true at what he said about burqa and Islam it will put me off Prince for good.
I will see what is written tomorrow. FUNKNROLL! "February 2014, wow". 'dre.

we all know he doesn`t let his interviews get recorded... So he can always say he got misquoted...But the sad thing is, it sounds like the Prince of the 2000 and 2010s.... Why on earth must he discuss religion all the times..talk about your music !! Your shows!

There wouldn't be anything to be misconstrued if Prince let journalists do their job and write down/record during the interview.
When has something been corrected that Prince said in an interview though? All the stupid things he's said, he seems to have stood by them.

It's true that he should let the interviewers record--his reasons for not doing so are idiotic. But any journalist worth his salt--heck, even the barely mediocre ones--can conduct an accurate interview without recording it. Prince doesn't allow the interviews to be recorded so he can pretend he was misquoted (and he has fams who will always believe it).

I know. And I know Prince has said some very contradicting crazy things thats nothing new is it, but people in the public do get misquoted a lot. Why would Prince be the exception? FUNKNROLL! "February 2014, wow". 'dre.
