The guitar solo on When You Were Mine (ONA Live) One of Prince's best ever! Anyone agree? Listen to it loud - I dare you to sit down on this one! [Edited 6/11/11 23:38pm]

As I recall, he plays a bum note on it ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

it sounds good but it is a REALLY BASIC guitar solo for a guitar player. Very simple indeed. It sounds good though

I might be "basic" & "simple", but DAMN I'd take the "soul" of this solo over hundreds of more techincally difficult arrangements I've heard!
I think that is what make Prince the genius he is. Yes, there are numerous other guitarists that might be able to play technically "more difficult" stuff - but when you listen to it, while impressive - it doesn't hold a candle to Prince's playing... Not really sure what the word I'm looking for to describe it....passion maybe? Soul? All I know is that I've seen many guitarist "move their fingers" quicker & whatnot, but it doesn't make me feel the same way...that make any sense?
