Damn, after reading the Guardian interview:

I think MAYTÉ was wearing a burqa, (and underneith the burqa she is very sexxxxy, lots' of make-up, lipstick......),

in the music video Love 2 The 9's from 3 Chains O' Gold....

And she is dancing some traditional islamic dances too, I think at the end of The Continental...?

So, this about Prince and the "Islamic world" isn't new...... after all.

But.... wouldn't a video like Love 2 The 9's be banned for it's sexxyness in an Islamic country.....?

^ thinking a bit about this, I don't think things between the western world and the islamic world in general was that heaten back then in 1992 (like it is today), when Prince made this mini film about him and Mayté...

I think he was creating something like "mystery and romance", with Mayté acting like she was a middle eastern princess or something, and the "story" about how they fell in love....

I don't think Prince would make Mayté dress in a burqa these days though (If this was happening today), he would have a second thought about that. Hopefully.....

Eeeer. Islam does not = Arabic.

Dance is technically banned under strict muslim law I believe.

Back in the day, prince andMayte thought they knneweach other in a former lifetime,

in Egypt. I think Mayte's bellydancing influenced her and Prince to actually believe8-)

in and appreciate the culture. Yes, Mayte is stunning in these pics, can see why Prince
