You see...i must have bought Purple Rain like 10 times over the years: vinyl, CD, minidisc...

Every few years i lose a few albums - i don't know why, and end up buying them again!!! Or they get scratched - new CD!

Its crazy...if there are more people out there like me i'm sure we're keeping Prince's finances VERY healthy...

I got all his albums upto Diamonds and Pearls on Vinyl and Cassette.I have no idea why.Of course i now have everything on CD too.

I need to buy Exodus again (which won't be easy).somehow i've just got an empty CD case and cover.

I have bought Diamonds and Pearls twice because my first CD had scratches on it and would skip all the time.

I've bought most of his albums more than once. Different formats, different versions, gifts, replacements, you name it.

i bought a replacement * * album a couple weeks ago.
it was in the 'deleted' rack,meaning it has been discontinued,so luckily i got a copy while i could. (new atleast)

Bought cassettes to replace some vinyl, replaced everything w/ cd's. Only cd's I've bought more than once are Girl 6, 1999 & (I think) Controversy...

Yeah unfortunately I ended up buying all of the albums from For You to a second time... first time I bought them was on cassette and I later replaced them all with CD.

Also I bought Emancipation twice, coz I gave my first copy to a friend. Anyway, you can get it for like £3 nowadays

Back in the 80s,I would routinely buy two copies of every new Prince album.I would buy the vinyl copy to play on my stereo,and I would buy the cassette version to play on my Walkman.

I remember having to buy THREE copies of 'Lovesexy'.I wore out the cassette so I bought it again (this in addition to the vinyl copy I already had).The one thing I would never do is make a cassette copy from the vinyl albums.When it came to Prince,I had to have the "original" copy!

I've had every album at least 3 times or more riding around in my truck they all get scratched, had many of them stolen or just misplaced now I store then in my computer when I need a new one I just burn it...

I have got about four different versions of Batman (Picture Disc Vinyl, Picture Disc CD, Tinned CD and Regular) and two or three versions of Purple Rain, a couple of Graffiti Bridge and Parade. So on and so forth. I also had to buy a new copy of lovesexy because it was stolen from my bedroom by a so called friend.

i have every album,single,c.d double.
1 for playing and 1 for my collection(untouched).

Wouldn't this thread just upset him, listing the $ we've forked over to Warner's over & over & OVER???

Controversy, Dirty Mind, Parade, Lovesexy, I bought twice to update from cassette to CD.

The Black Album twice, since someone stole my 1st copy.

1999, 3 times..1st on vinyl, then twice on CD (to get one that had DMSR on it)

Purple Rain & Around the World 3 times, 1st on Vinyl, next on cassette, then on CD.

SOTT...fucking 4!!! times. Bought originally on CD back in 87, then bought the cassette, because I heard it sounded better (which it did), then bought vinyl...just 'cause, then just bought the CD again last year since my original was so scratched up it constantly skipped.

...and have 2 copies of NPS, only because my girlfriend bought it for me for my birthday, when I had already ordered it from New Funk.

Back in the '80s, I just listened to my brother's Prince albums and bought cassettes for myself. Then in '88, when my brother left home, I started buying all of his stuff on vinyl, then cds came along, so I reaplaced all the stuff I had on vinyl and cassette.
so thru "for you"-"lovesexy" I have those in 3 formats; vinyl, cassette, and cds.
Everything else I just have on cd.
And I have a copy of "the rainbow children" on vinyl, as well as cd.

American release on vinly
Japanese release on vinly

I have also bought countless copies of the Gold Experience. Ive given so many copies away. I used to bring it to parties or clubs and the DJ or who ever dug it so much I would just give it to them.

Emancipation eye bought twice.. one when it was regular price (expensive)

and then when it was 4.99
