September 26, 1998 - Tramps, New York (soundboard)

This is a new soundboard, right?

1998-09-26 (am) Tramps, NYC

  1. Flash Light (instrumental) (8:50)
  2. Days Of Wild / Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Again) (14:28)
  3. The Jam (8:35)
  4. Also Sprach Zarathustra (16:16)
  5. Asswoop (2:47)
  6. Higher Love (5:09)
  7. Sweet Thing (6:20)
  8. Baby, I Love You (6:45)
  9. You Got The Love (5:44)
  10. Outro (1:44)

Or was it already widely circulating?

I gave it a listen. Well, let's just say that I like the First Avenue 1984 recording better... lol

I haven't listened yet, but a new soundboard is always appreciated. Hopefully, this will appear in lossless at some point.

Which makes me think that the 2005 list of soundboards that we have is MORE than outdated. It would be great if someone with the knowledge could update it, and even BETTER if such a list was available on The Digital Garden. Is TheDigitalGarden (the orger) behind the website? I'd love to submit this idea to him/her (?).

It's nice to have a new soundboard, no matter how dull the show.

It's nice to have things surfacing in a good sound quality.

That said... I really find this show boring/tiresome to listen to.

Found the vibe of Slims 98 better.

That's why someone called it "Borefest at Tramps". wink

Anyway, I'm thankfull for every show that surfaces, certainly when it's soundboard.

Busy doin' something close to nothing

Even if it's a retro Larry fest, the mucianship is great, and shows a lot of muscle. And the mix is good!

The music is not bad, but there's way too much Doug E. Fresh, Chaka Khan, etc. Too many covers. Prince doesn't sing much. But that's not news. That's 1998.

I agree, but by mix, I meant the arrangements are really strong. I've only listened to the first half so far.

It's a decent soundboard from an okay show. I'll never say no to a soundboard though.

The lossless is sourced from the same 128kbps, but is tracked and the "Another Mr Wizard production" watermarks have been removed - then saved to Flac, avoiding re-compression.

Ok. Next, please. wink

Yeah, it's the kind of show that would be boring to see live (because I saw some aftershows in this era, and unless Prince takes over, it gets boring),

but,

it sure is fun to listen to soundboard quality at your leisure while driving around. I like it too.

Not a landmark towards his personal pop reign like the other new soundboard, but a good record of his turn of the decade trend of seeking a very mature, accomplished, and retro vibe with old stars.

Hopefully even more soundboards will surface!

^^ I agree, I could do without Doug E Arsebag and his tired old beatbox/whatever routine, but on the whole this is a pretty funky set.

His voice sounded so hoarse. Speaking of hoarse, I didn't even recognize Prince's voice at the very end "credits". He sounded really hoarse. That was him right?

It's not how long your thread is, it's how you use it.

Thanks for the info!

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

As funky as it may be, I don't like Prince's covers and his shows in 98 were boring.

As I am in the 1998 period of his career in Possessed right now, I'm really not fond of this whole era. lol.

Was thinking the same, laid back vibe, good for a nice summer drive.

Keep these soundboards coming!!

How is Track 1 "Flash Light"?

Instrumental or not, I'm not hearing it, or at least not enough of it to warrant the title.

Gonna change it to "Instrumental Jam" on my playlist...
