Live is best

Well, I do agree with both the last comments. We all know Prince has been around along time now and he's produced vasts amounts of music. His last few albums have been very different and in some tracks very empty sounding. However as a live performer he will never fail and that's what he does best these days and thats where he pleases his followers. When you see Prince live you will neaver forget it, I've seen him 20 times over the past 22 years. Forget studio recording, live and in your face is where it's at. By the way, happy Birthday Prince.

I agree - I love watching him live. He really puts on a memorable performance.

But I have to confess that when I want to listen to Prince music, I prefer

his studio work over live recordings (in general).

I tend to agree that live is best, at least for Prince. I've seen him over 80 times in the past 27 years. There are some songs that are better recorded, Kiss to name one. I'd much rather listen to the SOTT rehearsal from Paisley Park than the actual album. Almost anything off Gold was better live.

I will agree with this up through 2003. Since then I hate his music live. For the songs he is doing since Musicolgy on through now I prefer the studio versions. I dont know what changed but something did. Pre 2003 he kicks ass live. Nowadays its barf barf barf barf barf barf barf

Everything just sound stale now. The only times something sounds halfway decent is when its a new song but that is a rarity for him to play those. Even then, some are ok and some are duds. There is NO passion it seems anymore. Its just a half assed performance now. Last inspiring tour to me was Rainbow Children. Now he rocked it then
