Francis L was sort of a dick. Actually, damn near everyone in Purple Rain was sort of a dick, except maybe the cadaver that announced the sets at First Avenue. He seemed cool.

the dad was some kind of God... treating her like shit and accusing her of being a sinner
also a God that felt he had the power to take life... even tho it was his own
i found both parents to be extremely dark characters in the movie... proving talent can come from anyone.... no matter how fucked up they r......
