Sherwin Williams Commercial - UTCM/Honest Man??? I've heard a commercial in the background a few times in the past couple of weeks, and finally caught the reference tonight. http://youtu.be/qrIGSaCQFxE .
The theme music seems to play off the opening scene in UTCM (which I think is An Honest Man). Most of the online chatter about the commercial references Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 ("Elvira Madigan" theme), but it's not the same. (Maybe both are patterned after Mozart.)
Thoughts?

It's definitely doesn't sound like An Honest Man. Listen to both consecutively. time flies. | |

Are you talking about the version from the film, or the one on CB? (They don't sound anything like each other.)
The coda is nearly the same at :07 and :13 of the commercial. Compare at 1:26 and 1:57 of UTCM:

Mozart's 'Concerto No 21' is mentioned in the comments a couple times. I hear more similarities to that (isten to the passage that begins around 1:30 in), but I also hear the slight comparison to 'An Honest Man', too. Which would actually mean Prince was riffing on Mozart, too. But in both cases we're just talking about a few notes, not the entire piece. I'm pretty sure the commercial is an "original" composition, though.

It is Mozart Concerto No 21 This is one of the most famous pieces of music in the world. Absolutely gorgeous.....and royalty-free.

Speak for yourself. It's not Mozart, and it just slightly resembles Prince tinkering on the keyboard. Go to the producer's website and tell me you don't notice the varied other pop references.
