Prince 1985 New Orleans Soundcheck I just listened to Prince 1985 New Orleans Soundcheck - More Bounce To The Ounce. Is that Eric Leeds on the sax? When did Eric join the band? Also at one point he's asking Wendy to do more "handclaps", so who's playing rythm guitar. Miko?

Yes Miko 7 Eric were there. I was 3rd row center of about 70,000 ppl. Good times!! Also Sheila, Appolonia 6, jerome & a few more i can't remember. Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews. | |

No, it was/is a track that was posted on a playlist which was posted on some site by Questlove from The Roots.
As the playlist contained bootleg material, the site cannot be posted here.

He certainly did and is posting streaming audio of this soundcheck clip. I hadn't seen it before and obviously Prince hasn't seen it yet. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

1) how Questlove managed to put his hands on an uncirculating rehearsal 2) how long before Prince sues Questlove's ass the way he sued Freemyheart.com back in 2002 3) how many other unreleased gems are being held by people who won't share them online

I'm just guessing, but perhaps Alan Leeds is his source. This defintely isn't all he's got either: Over at OKP, Questlove expressed surprise that the soundboard of the 84 Birthday Show had just surfaced. Seems he's had it for years and assumed everyone did. | |

Well, we just make it easier for Prince to go after the person posting the material when it's on here since his spies watch this place like hawks. Questlove may find his access to Prince restricted when he finds out he's leaking stuff and P most likely wouldn't have found it at its original location.

Yeah, I'm sure he's got a few other gems as well. I wonder if he has the rest of this rehearsal in New Orleans. But, it seems like pretty much the HUGE majority of stuff he has is stuff that's been "released" already throught the normal channels. | |
