HAD A FRIEND OR RELATIVE THAT HAD NEVER SEEN PRINCE LIVE? Just wondering if anyone had a friend or relative be fully impressed or blown away after seeing prince in concert for the first time? Just love it when that happens! I took my niece & she couldn't stop talking about how great he was!!

my gf took me in december as an early x-mas present. she was pretty surprised, and didnt realize he was as great as he is. that was my first time seeing him live too, but... i knew tons of his songs, she didnt.
i wonder what it wouldve been like to see him without knowing his songs. i guess it would be more surprising cause you dont know what to expect but, at the same time i think i would rather know his songs first because... well idk how to word it but its kinda obvious why i guess

took 3 friends - each one for an evening - to the shows this weekend past. they were awed at how intense it is! i literally had 2 grab one of my friends by the arm because she was in shock when it was time to try to get on stage. she got up there and danced. but, i even had to continue to grab her arm and pull her up the stairs up the stage. i guess that it is prince shock! quake? the friendz r awed that so much love can b going on from P and the band that is given out 2 the audience and then circles back 2 them from us. ~honey is b-ing 1 with the 1~

Back in 2000, Prince did a mini hit n run tour...I got 4th row, almost center stage tickets..took my girlfriend (now wife),,she was a casual fan...knew most hits..this was her first show...she came out of there almost hypnotized by the man. She couldnt believe how amazing he was as a performer...and I remember her saying he was a "beautiful" man....not to mention..them panties were wet during and after too(lol)--Thanks P! Stand Up! My dad went a couple weeks ago. He never really got why we liked Prince, and he is not a huge music fan in general. But he said it was maybe the best show he'd ever seen and he wanted to go again.
But he was a bit annoyed how late it started My Legacy

Yes! My best friend Debbie went with me to Columbia to see Prince, and it was her first time seeing him perform live. She's never been a fan, but tolerated my prattle about him because that's what friends are for, right? Anyhow, on the ninety minute trip to the arena, Deb kept saying, "I can't believe I let you talk me into going to see Prince", etc etc. As soon as Prince hit the stage she was seeing and hearing, finally, what I'd been trying to convey to her for years about the man. She didn't know the words to most of the songs, but she was moving her body and faking the lyrics, and I was so happy she appeared to be having a blast. About ten minutes into the concert, she hollered in my ear, "HE REALLY IS GOOD"! Both of us were on our feet the entire concert, and were hoarse and drenched in sweat by the end. Debbie finally got purified in the waters of Lake Minnetonka, and we had her Jeep Grand Cherokee rockin' Prince LOUD down I-20 all the way home. It had been a special night indeed! Thanks for going with me Debbie, and welcome to the "club".

I keep hoping that Prince will do either a proper show or hold a Paisley Park party someday soon because my nephews are finally old enough - and interested enough - to appreciate a Prince performance, especially my one nephew as he's taken up guitar in the last few years and I know he'd be knocked off his feet seeing Prince play live. I'd love to be the one to bring them to their first Prince show.

Don't know if it counts, but my grandfather watched Prince Live in Tokyo (Nude tour) when it was on the telly. He did not like any pop music, but told me after a few songs that he could perfectly understand why i liked Prince that much. He could see how Prince was into the music and worked the audience.
(Must add that de evenening before my grandfather watched the Beegees on the TV. that was just three guys standing there and no action at all....)

I took a friend who I had been trying to get them to go for years and of course the show I took them to Prince did about half the show(literally) of cover songs. He didn't like it becasue he wanted to hear Prince to his music. Now I have to hear jokes about him being a glorified cover band. I have to admit though I didn't like it either. He is right though but I just can't give in!! lol. I do want to hear his music when I go not someone elses. Oh well, I tried. He does like Prince ok but I always tried to get him hooked on the live stuff. He took me to see Kid Rock and I have to admit that was probally the BEST show I have ever seen. WOW!! I never would have thought it. I am going to rebound though and take him to go see U2 and Aerosmith to rebound from the Prince dud. Kid Rock will be tough to beat though.

My ex attended a few shows with me, she liked Prince, and really enjoyed the shows, but was not really a big fan or ought. She was bored shitless at the two Gold Experience shows, it was "when is he gonna play Purple Rain?"

I thought they were great too, but there were people around me at both shows shouting out the titles of hits, and it was clear that it was not that kind of show. Happy days indeed.
