I was lucky enough to work with Cameron Crowe the director last week. The project he is working on (Bought a Zoo) stars Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansen. Both Cameron and Matt are Prince fans, and Cameron was telling me that last Friday Matt Damon and his family went to see Prince's show in LA.
As they were leaving some people came over and asked if Matt Damon and his family would like to meet Prince back stage, which of coarse he did.
After waiting a while backstage, Matt said Prince arrived in a purple robe and turban. Not knowing what to talk about and feeling an awkward silence, Matt asked prince "So Prince do you still live in Minneapolis?"
To which Prince replied "I live forever in my heart Matt Damon" and then left.
I thought it was a funny story when I heard it.
That's awesome.
I can just picture him saying that in a completely solemn, deadpan way.

Poor Matt Damon - LOL ... Prince is, well Prince ... I met him once and I said a weird "may I say hello?" And he said "yes, but let me put my coat on first" but he wasn't able to get his coat on, he couldn't find the sleeve and was fumbling, so after a while I said "that's ok, I'm patient" he cracked a smile, shook my hand and we uttered unrecognizable words and he split. BTW, I never asked to shake his hand
The DJ was Rashida. And this was so ugh that he cancelled the aftershow. Because he was there and walked around the club. The second night he played guitar a bit with Costa on stage.

no it wasn't rashida, it was some bloke djing
nikka costa playing during the aftershow on 4th august, which was the second night. the first night was 3rd august
you are maybe confused with the night with dr john on 3rd august where prince was in the venue and guitar setup for part of the show, but prince wasn't in the mood and fucked off elsewhere. dr john was playing indigo2 earlier in the evening and prince asked him to play a second set
That was one of the aftershows I was at. It was the first of the 21 nights shows I saw, and the first aftershow. Nikka killed it that night! Prince came out and played guitar for a couple of songs.
As for Kevin Smith and Matt Damon - yes they are friends, Matt was one of the two main leads (along with Ben Affleck) in Kevin's movie Dogma.
