if the musicians had so called better ideas than prince, they would be writing better songs than him, they would be the ones writing hits for others. They didnt do that

And get off was recorded with a "real band", the NPG, who were easily a superior band when he came to live performances.

secondly .. wendy and lisa have dones some very cool music .. have listened to any of it? they are both very talented and were before they met prince as well

truth is i like talking prince music .. just like i like talking any music .. i would likely be here if prince was not making anymore music .. and i am always hoping he will pull out something good and surprise me .. just like the recent show he played power fantastic at .. great show

john blackwell is a very talented drummer as are many of prince musicians .. but there is a certain spark and extra level of creativity that certain people in the prince camp have and that the others do not have .. john does nothing for me in terms of spark and his muffled snare drum tone doesnt suit prince style in my opinion .. he is a perfectly capable drummer but i don't feel that he elevates prince music .. he just maintains and even so its still not as good as it was by the original players .. with the original tones and style .. and i do not enjoy the lite jazz influence both he and renato bring to the prince cannon .. it steals the life of the song imo .. rhonda is ok but again no star power

yes you admit most people don't know his band .. and thats my point exactly .. he used to have a band that people did know because they had that starpower .. and i think they were more involved in creating the music than any of prince recent line ups .. and sure lots of bands lose members and replace them but most fans will agree that it never sounds as good as the person who helped write the song or the parts whether they be drums, bass, piano or vocal harmonies .. just as candy dulfer is no eric leeds .. its just not as good and loses some of the magic that made those songs great.

I think he can sure BE an asshole, deep down though I believe he is not truly that way. I think his insecurities make him act weird to former bandmates and friends. Sometimes you can be so far up your own ass that you lose a grip on reality. Either way, I love the guy as a musician, but I think his Napoleon complex would get on my NERVES as friends

IS he an arsehole .. I doubt it .. I think the people who he let in . all seem to love him .. so I imagine he is a cool guy .. just dont trust people too easily an for that reason he might seem a little unfriendly to some ... His 1st love is making music ... an I love his music an i have been enjoying it an listening to it has enriched my life for alot of years .. an thats the case for all prince fans .. so 4 that i am grateful that her served us with such awesome music ... I once posted a bitter topic about prince been a control freak .. cos the fact he aint on youtube etc etc ... but now . i just think . so what .. its his life . he can do what he wants . Mmm ... I put a strong effort into not getting involved in the 'purple politics'.

I'm a fan of the music (lyrics), no more no less.

It's not about knowing if he gets along with anyone he worked with in the past, it's about today and now. Yes, I would prefer and love to see The ORIGINAL Revolution come together and tour or pehaps put out one album together but, that's MY wishful thinking.

It's not about this or that project that has not surfaced. I'm just looking forward to the next album. I loved 20Ten, I loved LoTUSFLOW3R (MPLSoUND and Elix3r). I consider myself an admirer / enthusiast of the 'art' itself.

If you keep with that point of view, there would be no disappointments. There would be no 'I'm starting to think that music & fans are the only stable thing Prince has in his life'.

Why concern yourself with that thought, I don't (then again, I do get your point). It seems some 'fans' have a Love / Hate relationship with Prince and 98% of us have never worked with him or know him personally, kinda makes ya think, hunh ???

This entire topic is so stupid!!! Do you really judge someone's character by people he's fired? Really? That's STUPID!!!! All of these people were on camera gushing about how totally awesome he was and how magical it was working with him. Until he fired their asses, then they are mad. Please! I won't be listening to non of them jealous bitches!!! I only care about what other people think that are STILL working with him.

Those folks blame Prince for ruining their careers.....a career they wouldn't even have without him. Non of them were on his level of talent, NONE! The problem Prince made was giving these folks too much stage time and presence in his career. Other people fire and change their backing band often, but the public rarely knows. Prince was too nice and let these folks have the spotlight and then when he kicked them to the curb and they had to rely on themselves, they couldn't do it, and got mad at him.

I'm not buying that Prince let them in on who he is personally. Remember, these people were employees. People are very different at home then they are at work. Ex gfs have said some things, but not anything really substantial or validated. Its all hearsay. For all the people who say negative stuff, there is someone saying positive. I talked to a number of members of Prince's band during the years and that was always at a time when they were in his band at that time and they usually told me that as much as they appreciate the chance to work with such a talented artist they are not close to him on a personal level and are pretty happy when they don't see him too much.
