Most likely setlist

Prince seems 2 be doing some concerts around the world this summer, including in Norway on July 23 and 24. What songs is it most likely he will choose to play during these concerts? What´s the chance of hearing songs like The Ladder, Electric Intercourse, The One, I hate U or Old friends 4 sale or maybe some kind of acoustic set or a piano medley set?

I very much doubt you will hear ANY of those songs you mentioned except perhaps "The One". Still, you never know.

You'll probably hear "1999", "Purple Rain", "Kiss", "Controversy", "Let's Work", "Cool", "Raspberry Beret", "The Beautiful Ones", "If I Was Your Girlfriend", "Let's Go Crazy"....amongst others.

Militant, I guess U have good knowledge about Prince. I always thought that Prince was a kind of artist that always changed his setlists from one show 2 another since he has such a vast catalogue 2 choose from. But as I have registered lately, also on this forum, he seems 2 be playing a lot of the same music over and over again. Now, I personally really don´t complain about him playing his big hits, I love it. But I would surely love it if he would drag out more of his "hidden treasures", like the ones I mentioned above, more often. Why do u think that he keeps playing the same songs all the time??

Based on past performance, he is more likely to perform less commonly played tracks at one or more of the North Sea Jazz dates in Rotterdam, with the standard hits more heavily featured at the other European stadium / arena / festival dates

On the big arena / stadium gigs, what you've gotta remember is that most of the crowd are just casual fans and they want the hits.

As langebleu mentioned - if you can go to the North Sea Jazz festival, he is playing three shows there and will be playing sets that focus less on "hits".

Even better, if you can get to one of his legendary aftershows he's liable to pull all kinds of rarities out of the bag.

UltraLash

Based on his American tour, he has 2 or 3 standard formats for his show, with a few wild cards thrown in. You're most likely to hear these songs at arena-type shows:

Cream

Raspberry Beret

Purple Rain

Cool / Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough

Kiss

If I Was Your Girlfriend

Controversy

Let's Work

U Got the Look

Play That Funky Music

Hollywood Swinging

D.M.S.R.

Pop Life

Musicology

Let’s Go Crazy

Delirious

1999

Shhh

Adore

Scandalous

Little Red Corvette

I Would Die 4 U

Nothing Compares 2 U

Mountains

Laydown

Future Soul Song

The Question of U / The One

Take Me With U

And these songs at jazz or club venues:

Colonized Mind

Endorphinmachine

Dreamer

Little Red Corvette

She's Always in My Hair

Bambi

Boom

Stratus

Somewhere Here on Earth

Musicology

Then again, I'm sure he knows which songs are most popular in each country and will change the setlist appropriately. He does tweak the set from show to show at the same venue. I've been surprised to hear "Something in the Water," "Sometimes it Snows in April" and "17 Days" once or twice.
