In love with "U're Gonna C Me" Ok, so first off i hate the MPLSound album except the first 4 songs, but the song U're Gonna C Me just sticks out to me. I'm in love with it. Whenever i listen to it i have to play it 3 or 4 times. i love the lyrics, the rhythm, etc. its amazing. Its currently in my top 5 favorite prince songs ever.
Does anyone else agree with me on this? "In the distance, 6 others will curse me. But thats alright, I will watch them fall."

I like the One Nite Alone version better. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The ONA version slaughters it and Here is the better RnB ballad on that album. Ol Skool being my fave on that album overall. This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

Oh, yes. It sounded like heaven the first time I heard it. I don't listen to it often, but it's very dear to me. I love the ONA version too

WetDream said: The ONA version slaughters it and Here is the better RnB ballad on that album. Ol Skool being my fave on that album overall. Same for me. Don't really get why so many people dislike Old Skool Company. I think it's a solid track and I just love that "jam"(?) portion of the last 3 minutes or so, laced with that guitar and those weird camille type vocals. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

A classic!!!!
ONA version leaves more to the imagination and is my preference:-D small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!

The 'lassoed the moon' part is especially cringeworthy.
One of Prince's cheesiest moments lyrically speaking.

true! but i let him off that one cuz he sings it so nicely. also other lyrics in the song are very cool...' if you could just hold me tight you'd c, there is nothing harder 4 you than me' bloody gorg

This song is truly awesome. The ONA version is way more intensive. Could listen to it for hours... But the MPLSound version is good, too, but like the rest of the album, it sounds kind of cold and non-organic (say hello to ProTools)...

I'm also in love with it. I used to sit and play it on repeat for hours. The ONA version meanders a bit too much for me. The MPLS version feels right. When the "oooo" backing vocals come in on the last chorus? Pure gold. [Edited 5/27/11 11:08am] "The new b-side is called Forever You're Dead." "2 Whom It May Concern?" "Yeah."

Loved the One Nite Alone version from the start. Brilliant piano playing, lyrics and vocalizations. Dag! Strange, but, the MPLS version had to grow on me. Didn't like it at first. But, for some reason, it just suddenly clicked for me and I couldn't get enough of it. The alternating "baby's'' and "darling's'' at the end of lines just blow me away. What attention to detail! Such a seemingly throw-away embellishment opportunity at first, but he spills so much emotion into it, and I love singing along to it to this day. Two thumbs up for BOTH versions here. I guess I'm lucky. lol

It isn't Prince's fault you didn't get the reference. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
