Man, what I wouldn't give for the original demo of SUGAR WALLS Imagine it's 1984 or whatever and you are Sheena Easton. You get a call from Prince and says 'Hey, I got this song for you. I think it'd be perfect. You should hear it!".
Exciting, right? You wait and the next day the package arrives via Fed Ex. You and your manager sit down to listen to it. The manager lays out rail of coke and reads the cassette case.. "Sugar Walls? Uh oh? I don't know about this, Ms. Morning Train." he says.
The song comes on. Prince is in full on falsetto, screaming and making sexy sounds. 'Temperatures rise inside my sugar walls...' You think of how he was on the phone. Yr manager makes a big gross sniffle, and you start laughing...
Anyway, I'd love to hear the demo of this. I bet it's really, really entertaining. It doesn't happen to be floating around out there does it?

I do not think prince ever recorded it with his own or any other associated artist. I am thinking prince and her were in the same studio and met and did the song. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Really? Do you have any evidence of that? I mean, to me it doesn't really sound like his production. That doesn't really sound like his guitar playing, etc...

From The Vault by Per Nilsen:
This could lead one to conclude Prince at least did a guide vocal.

This contradictory, although possibly more accurate account could mean there was never a guide vocal. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It sure as hell sounds like she's following a Prince guide vocal. Those harmonies and falsetto yells... that's absolutely Prince-y. There HAD to be a guide vocal. That's what I think.

It seems to be Prince's studio MO, so I'll bet that's the case. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I don't know if Prince's version exist but, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Prince vocals is blended in under Sheena's thru out the song. So, it could be a one with the guided vocals on there.

It would be quite surprising if Prince hadn't recorded his own vocals on it, just for the fun of it, but if we don't know, well, we don't know...
If it does exist, I'd love to hear it. Sheena's version (particularly the extended mix) is perfect, though. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/
