I never received the first "issue" of One Nite Alone for my NPGMC membership (I got mine included in the live box set).

So I may be wrong but...

I recall the website saying that One Nite Alone was a "demo" CD and that it also said that on the "sleeve/case"

The version that came with the boxset definitely does not say demo anywhere.

Is there any difference between the two?

I also missed the first ONA CD as I joined later last year. But according to the pictures shown at NPGMC the first CD came in one of those digipacks ... I guess the thing is actually called "Ecopack" or something, like the US "Letitgo" and "Space" CD-Singles. And what I got with "ONA...Live" was this cardboard thing. ...No differences?

By calling the first one a demo, he left himself open to change or fix something in the music. But he probably didn't have enough time or just didn't want to.

ONA always was packaged in the fold out cardboard holder. The only difference between the cds sent out in May & the cds sent out n December is the December cds had been sitting on a shelf since May.
