last example of the Minneapolis sound?

Which song do you regard as being the last example of the Minneapolis sound (MPLS Sound doesn't count) and when was it released?

There are plenty of artists these days that are using elements of that sound in their stuff. Of course, Prince has reintroduced some of those elements back into his music as well.

... but from the "classic era", and as far as only Prince albums are concerned, I'd say "Strange Relationship"? Maybe "Hot Thing" and a few other tracks on SOTT as well? There are elements of the Minneapolis sound also on Batman and GB, but the overall production style had changed quite a lot by that point.

Because it's not the REAL Minneapolis Sound. Just some fake ass, contrived wanna-be attempt at making something he thought was getting a little "hot" again because of other artists sampling some Linn beats. disbelief

As mentioned in my initial post, I'm referring to the true, original 1980s Minneapolis Sound - not the retro, tinny funk-lite of the 21st century. Not fucking stupid at all!

Y, just because there's no reverb these days that doesn't mean it's not "real" or "fake ass". They're just more bitter ex-fans

How does music by the man who INVENTED the Minneapolis Sound not qualify if it contains all the necessary elements?

I'm just saying...

Any of his songs that used synth lines in place of horns, pick any of them, they're good enough for me.

What are U talking about?

The Minneapolis Sound is a defined style. It has nothing to do with anyone being stuck in the 1980's and definately has nothing to do with the Revolution, because tons of bands and groups played the Minneapolis Sound.

the 2009 Prince release was not the Minneapolis Sound, it wasn't an updated Minneapolis SOund, it just wasn't the MSound

I do think he had some good elements of it on 20Ten though,

He didn't invent it, he put it on the map. He made his own unique style of it

the 2009 release I just don't hear the necessary elements. The linn work was disappointing.

It's sound really good on 20Ten though

That would just be a disrespect to the foundation and creativity of that sound and music then.
