Complete (or almost complete) aftershow / one-off concert soundboards

This got lost in another thread, so I'm reposting it in a thread of its own.

Am I missing anything here, in terms of complete (or almost complete) aftershow / one-off concert soundboards? I've excluded really incomplete recordings (e.g. Grosse Freiheit 1988, etc.). Also, I'm not including any rehearsal, TV performance, official release, etc.

  • First Avenue 1983
  • First Avenue 1984
  • First Avenue 1986
  • Minnesota Music Awards 1986
  • First Avenue 1987
  • Paisley Park 1987
  • Het Paard van Troje 1988
  • Cabaret Metro 1993
  • DNA Lounge 1993
  • Paisley Park 1994
  • Glam Slam 1994 (x3)
  • Glam Slam 1995
  • Vega 2002

Thanks, that's the list I used to create mine. I was wondering if something had passed under my radar these last 5-6 years.

Probably but i have no clue, I don't have a single soundboard post 2002. I know from a reliable source that a soundboard copy of a show from last year do exist, but the dude who bought it from the engineer said he wouldn't share it sad

  • First Avenue 1987
  • Paisley Park 1987
  • Het Paard van Troje 1988
  • Cabaret Metro 1993
  • DNA Lounge 1993
  • Paisley Park 1994
  • Glam Slam 1994 (x3)
  • Glam Slam 1995
  • Vega 2002

The 1986 soundboard was actually performed at the Carlton Celebrity Room in Bloomington, MN for the Minnesota Music Awards and not First Ave. It's available on Akashic Records' "Love Or $".

The March 3, 1986 concert was at First Avenue. But you're right, I forgot about that release, "Love Or $" (from 2010, I think?). I don't remember if it's complete or not, though.

Yeah, and there was that rumor about that guy with the Montreux 2007 soundboard, too. I remember hearing about it on TRH.

^ In my case it's first hand: I won't say which show in order not to put an engineer in trouble, but a very good friend of mine actually witnessed the transaction, and the dude who bought the recording told him: "this is just for me and a friend of mine, we're not gonna share it".

The Montreux recording probably exist. We all know that many people have first class recordings of both studio tracks and live shows that they won't release, either out of selfishness or because of promises they've made to people in the past not to share the material sad

What can i say? Selfishness is a deadly sin, and promises are made to be broken lol

It's not a 100% complete soundboard. The addition of an audience recording on a small section of "Kiss" makes up the complete show.

Despite the obvious jump from soundboard to audience quality, it has been done beautifully, and it is only on one song.

Great show.

Thanks. I've added that concert to my list. I think I listened to it once. That's the problem when you have hundreds of bootlegs. It's hard to keep track of the ones that matter...

I agree. I was listening to "Strange Way of Saying I Love U" yesterday. Hearing it in such a quality (low RealAudio settings) is frustrating. If only Timothy D. Daquino (aka T) could break that promise he made... wink

It can be difficult yes, despite having what I think are organized hard drives, sometimes specific recordings can be easily overlooked.

March 3, 1986, or "First Avenue '86" (4DaFunk) is actually not soundboard, but a very, very good audience recording.

I know, but I was sure there was a soundboard recording circulating from that concert. Maybe even a professionally shot video? It is also listed on Liberation's list ("30. 3rd March 1986 First Avenue, Minneapolis (120 mins/EX)").

You're right that video-sourced audio of the 1986 First Avenue warm up gig is available on a few boots, as well as DVD.
