I believe the only track on this boot that remained unchanged on the retail configuration is Count The Days. The other songs got chopped up in favor of placing more tracks on the final CD.

thumbs up!

Further songs for Exodus were recorded in the second half of 1994 and a new sequence was assembled on December 2nd 1994. The record now featured 12 tracks (two of which were joined together) and a number of segues: NPG Operator (segue), Get Wild, Slave 2 The System – Acknowledge Me, Super Hero, Count (segue), Count The Days, Sonny (segue), DJ Gets Jumped (segue), New Power Soul, Mad, Love… Thy Will Be Done, Funky, Proud Mary, NPG Bum Rush The Ship (segue), Exodus, The Funky Design. The track Super Hero continued into a version of Billy Preston’s Outa-Space, which was uncredited on this configuration. Only four of the tracks from this configuration made the final album: Get Wild, Count The Days, New Power Soul, and Exodus.

I love Exodus but that sounds like a awesome track list. The NPG arrangement of Love Thy Will Be Done is one of my favourtites. Is there a circulating version of this arrangement with the cool guitar and Prince on lead?

RIP sad

DFB#013/014: Love'Me'Sexy

CD1, 1 track official Lovesexy album tweaked.

CD2, official Lovesexy album with extra trax - tweaked and tracked. Contains short/long versions with the odd edit here and there.

Interesting fact: The official Pink Cashmere track has a defect around the 1.10 mark for several seconds. This is on both 'The Hits' version and 'Girl 6' version and this tweaked version.

I haven't run across a guitar version with Prince on vox. I believe this is uncirculating if it exists. Shame, because it's a killer cut otherwise.

which unreleased cd? All these tracks were officially released by NPG in 1995 on NPG Records (title of the album: Exodus).

Try to keep up dear! razz

smile

am trying real hard, just unfamiliar with the concept that an early configuration of an officially released album qualifies as an 'unreleased cd'... back in the day (before I became clueless smile ) these were called outtakes of alternates...

So Prince has thousands of so called unreleased albums biggrin

thanks to those who shed some light on this in a friendly way wink

I think the confusion with this particular release is that a few in-house promo CDs were actually made with this configuration as well as packaging artwork. So this is literally taken from an unreleased, pre-mass-production CD, vs a compilation of cassette outtakes from those sessions.

Have you heard the LoveMESExy release?

What's up with "Lovesexy" "When 2 R in Love" and other tracks on the second disk? Anything new here? I've never heard of alternates circulating for those two.

The songs (as far as I can tell) are all officially released and taken from their respective CDs, but the audio has been carefully adjusted to enhance the sound.

Yeah, I just downloaded it (thankyouyouknowwho) but i don't understand the purpose of this second CD's tracklist: it doesn't fit any known configuration of any album from this era, it's just... weird lol

I'm not sure I understand the concept either. I've not downloaded it yet. Would you recommend it?

Just had a quick listen. This sounds pretty good actually. The first CD is a "sound enhanced" version of Lovesexy. The second CD is a "what if" version of Lovesexy with songs from 1988 (Pink Cashmere, Still Would Stand All Time, and Elephants & Flowers), later released on "Graffiti Bridge" and "The Hits 1". Nothing previously unreleased, but nicely done.
