Prince in your headphones

I was listening to "U Got the Look" on my headphones today and I noticed a couple of ad-libs and noises that I hadn't really noticed before. What are some other good songs that has this effect?

^^ Pretty much, I find headphones essential for maximum enjoyment of all music, not just Prince.

When I was in High school, in 95 or 96, I got sick and was in t he hospital for 3 months. During that time I was wearing my DiscMan out summin' fierce. After a minute, my headphone cord got kinda screwy at the joint by the jack. It would cause the lead vox and stuff to drop out leaving backgrnd sounds and vox out in front. It was like I had a brand new record collection.

I was espicially hung up on the batman soundtrack. There's a "library of crongress" amount of sound on that album. obscene amounts of layers....prince as well.

But even if you do have a serious sound system, it is still great to listen to music on headphones.

I dig but there is nothing like being completely surrounded by the music where u can hear and feel it.

You are lucky, my neighbour is tolerant, and I don't play loud music late at night, but sometimes I see her going out not long after I put on music.

lol

I was listening to "alphabet St."one day through my headphones but I didn't have the jack pushed all the way into my device so I was only picking up part of the song and I heard all this guitar and underlying music I never noticed before! It was awesome to hear a layer of sound that I might not ofheard otherwise. I wish I had the ability to break down all his song like that!

If they don't cover the entire ear....they aren't headphones.

I saw this documentsary on Tommy Dowd, a sound engineer/producer and at the end, he pulled out the master of Layla and slid the sliders, isolating guitar lix and vox, it was awesome.

I just brought these:

Panasonic RP-HTX7 and all of Prince's stuff sounds reasonably excellent on them. Even the old CD releases from For You to Graffiti Bridge and the horribly compressed albums from Diamonds & Pearls to 20Ten. I definitely recommend them...cool headphones that only costed me $45 bucks on Amazon.

Thanks! I'll check them out! Looking for some good headphones but don't have the $200+ for the Dre. Dre's.

^^ The Dre headphones look great and sound nice, but you are paying $50 for the headphones and $150 for the use of his name.

Don't be fooled. wink

No problem! I tried the Beats by Dre headphones out and they aren't what people make them out to be anyways. They are bassy as hell and the mids and highs are just everywhere (audiophile talk!). They look nice and all, but the sound is lukewarm to my liking. Plus you'll be paying 200+ dollars for a name and over-the-ear headphones with average sound! You'll do better with that pair of Panasonics or a great Sony pair like the MDR-EX300s. But it all depends on your ears!
