List of musicians who have covered prince

Just curious. Which famous musicians have covered Prince songs in their concerts or on their albums?

And by musicians i dont mean these autotune pop singers, i mean respected musicians whether you like them or not

The two i can think off are Foo fighters (darling nikki) and george clinton (erotic city). Any others?

Just bought Desert Eagle Discs - "The Eagle Has Landed" for £4 (double vinyl).

They have covered "Old Friends For Sale"

Does Hammer's song "Pray" count since it has a sample of the keyboard part from "When Doves Cry" in it?

"Manic Monday" (The Bangles)

"Cool" (Snoop Dogg)

"Walk Don't Walk" (Robert Randolph & Family Band)

"I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" (The Eels)

"Starfish And Coffee" (Matt Nathanson)

"When You Were Mine" (Tegan and Sara)

Alphabet Street and Shockadelica make up a big chunk of Ween's "LMLYP". They also insert part of "Kiss" into "Voodoo Lady" when they play it live.

I have never heard of Ween covering "U Got the Look". They have done "Housequake" though...

I guess you can say it kinda does. I did include "Soft & Wet" (he had it titled as "She's Soft & Wet" on his "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em" album).

Bobby Jimmy did a song called "Milkshake", that's a parody of "Housequake". Didn't P (or someone who works for him) stop Weird Al from doing parodies of his songs back in the 80s?

oww, so he did some parodies? i like Weird Al, especially his 'interview' with Paul McCartney. I really want to see him covering Prince.

You guys forgot about Beyonce. In her and Jay-Z's song Bonnie & Clyde she sings one verse from If I Was Your Girlfriend. Does it count ? And Missing Persons covered I Would Die 4 U. Buddy Miles covered Baby, I'm a Star!.

Ok slightly off topic but I am pretty sure that Kelly Rowland is sampling Prince on her "Bump Like This" song.

Anybody know?

Duff McKagan of Guns 'n' Roses covered "Bambi" I think but I'm not sure... I know he said that was his favorite Prince song.

I saw Weird Al in an interview about ten years ago and he mentioned Prince was the only artist to ever say no to him, not allowing him to parody his music. He said Prince takes his music very seriously.

Marcus Miller also covered ´Girls and Boys´ and ´Purple Rain´.

Niacin (the group featuring Billy Sheehan and Dennis Chambers) covered ´Purple Rain´ also.

Does anybody know of more covers by jazz/fusion artists?
