Did Jason Mraz rip off 'Chelsea Rodgers'..? Was listening to the latest Jason Mraz album (from 2008 already...), and I found certain elements from 'Butterfly' very similar to Chelsea Rodgers. Don't get me wrong: I know they're totally different songs lyrically, structurally, etc., but I do find the feel and arrangement of the chorus instrumental part very similar; so similar, that I somehow feel Jason was actually attempting to do a Prince homage.
Love both the Jason Mraz album and Chelsea Rodgers in any case.

Yep, that opening is straight up a rip of Sticky Like Glue.
I was getting into it, ya know, until Jason started to sang....WTF??? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. I never heard Chelsea Rodgers but I sure did hear Sticky Like Glue at the beggining like everyone else...hmmm since this is 2008 maybe Prince ripped him off!! The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
