I always just assumed it was Rosie Gaines.

Could it have been Boni Boyer??

Rosie was still two years away. I think it sounds like Boni singing "will".

it was bonnie singing incorrectly, however her soul was still in it. he smiled at her after he said it and she waved a fist back at him. I saw this aftershow and it was incredible. during still would stand all time when he runs down the days of the week, prince started to pull his own hair really hard and rip the buttons open on his shirt! very passionate.
he played the solo on lying his back

also, it IS true, that during just my imagination solo - one tear ran down his face

I can only really know I'm a Prince fanatic through this song and Just My Imagination. Both are far and above what any other musician could get anywhere near. The Small Club CD is everything the hype on the Org suggests and more.

I'm a bootleg sceptic - but this one really is a necessity.

WOW, you are like the first person I've ever heard that was actually there. What else can you tell us? I'd love to know what he was wearing if you can remember, small stage?

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Beautiful song...
And P's version of 'Just My Imagination' - OMG! Quite simply, one of the most powerful live tracks I've EVER heard. Astounding.

I know Prince doesn't react kindly to advice (!) but at last year's Celebration I was DYING to ask Femi Jiya if he'd get Prince to play 'Just My Imagination'. If he ever plays it again I HAVE to be there. The fact he shed a tear as well - wonderful. I never knew that...

I know we've spoken before about this show...

BUT u should post a review of this show...describe the scene, stage, what P was wearing, which guitar he used, what he did during each song!!!

That would make a lot of people very happy - you need to be put into a Prince museum or something as being witness to one of his greatest performances ever!!!

I don't know what you were smoking there but this didn't happen...

That's pretty hard to do when you're wearing a button-less shirt...

he played the solo on lying his back

No he didn't...

This is true though...

i have no reason to lie about such a thing. I guess its my opinion againts yours. if u dont want to believe or accept that i was there then fine. many find it hard to take that some people actually did attend. possibly one of the reasons i dont choose to discuss it much. I was there and thats all i need to know.

Well, good for you...

I just pointed out some things that didn't happen...
You may believe that some of those things did happen that night and if that makes you happy then keep on believing that if you will, but I KNOW those things didn't happen...

I love his performance, don't care that much for the studio version, but this performace is tight. Unfortunately it's hard for me to fully enjoy cause I always find myself just waiting for him to yell at Boni. Also, that "will" stuff is very annoying and dang near ruins the song for me.
