So sorry to kind of ask a silly question here but since the recent Prince tours,I've been seeing he's been playing more of his old Hohner Telecaster.Does he still play his custom made Fender Stratocasters.He thinks he gets more of a harsher sound on the Fender than with the Hohner.

Disclaimer - I'm not a guitar expert, so I don't know if this answers your question...

At a couple of his W2A shows he pulled out the gold fender, but only played it during one song (I think).

The hohner is the one he seemed to play the most when I was at the show, as you already mentioned.

He has played the gold strat and the red strat at the W2A shows. The Honer is mostly used for funky stuff and solos with less gain. The gold strat seems to get used for visual impact. And the red strat is for the high-gain rock parts that he used to do with the cloud guitars (which seem to have had the same electronics).

It freaked me out the first time i saw him play a Strat. I think it might have been 'Hong Kong Rocks' whenever that was. A long career and that was the first time for me. It was a bit surreal. I'd gotten used to his custom penis-extension guitars.

In LA he has played a couple of Strats including the baby blue one and one that appeared to be orange.
