It's my humble opinion that as a fan I shoiuld not be giving advice or my thoughts taken to seriously about such an ICON as Prince.
It's nice that he looks occasionally at this postboard... but truth.. we are a scattered bunch and nipping at his heels should be seen as just suggestions.. He should always do what feels right to him BECAUSE it had led him to this great place in his life now.... By following other's "light" he just might lose his own...
and we as his fans... has been following his... And in in the process we all could end up Discumbobulated...
So be careful weeding out the true jewels from the pig's ears dressed up to look like jewels..
Mmm, I don't think he listens to anything anyone has to say on prince.org. He may laugh at a lot of what people say on the org more then anything else. |

I actually kind of doubt that he does listen to the fans as to what to do with his career or his personal life ...
I don't think he listens to the fans either. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if, when he puts out a new album or does a show that he thinks was particularly good, he might come on here hoping to find some praise and affirmation. I imagine he shuts his computer down after reading a few critical posts (even if they are well-deserved). But who knows.
honestly , i think prince has chatted with a few orgers in the past
and everyone didnt know.

you guys are really flattering yourselves. Prince has always been known to keep to himself in his own bubble, he may hear things from advisors but i would bet that his time is very limited here. He always says he doesn't have time to even listen to new music, I would tend to believe him for the most part, he's always doing something and surfing would be a waste of time. |

Hell no. If he was listening to us he would be playing songs of more variety. Instead of the songs everybody's heard at every show for the past 5 years. "Don't make me chase u, even doves have pride.." |

I bet he has. I would also guess that, if he's ever posted anything in here, it's probably in Politics & Religion, trying to convert someone to his belief system. I'm sure he would find our discussion of outtakes and remasters completely boring, since he lived it and has everything in his vault. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach. |

i've been on this forum for awhile, and i'd say there is no consensus overall, if he listened to us, he'd be confused as hell. He needs to resist listening to us. |

I don't think it would be appropriate for me to reply to your post, because I have no business offering my opinion on such matters. So I will not point out the irony in your telling Prince not to listen to your advice. That's a bingo! |

We inspired him to write F.U.N.K.
Which was not bad I liked it. Was worth the .99 on itunes. I believe healthy criticism is healthy...you cant live in your own bubble for too long. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records. |

I personally liked a lot of what was on musicology, some of what was on 3121, haven't been too crazy about lotus flower. He doesn't need any fire up his ass. Anyway, he doesn't need to listen to us. He can do what he wants or nothing. If he released albums as sporadically as say Springsteen has or Mike did, or Stevie does maybe some of this chatter would go away. |

LOVED F.U.N.K. Even if it was a dis.
But Timmy, how do you mean? You saying he should record more tracks with the musical style, or tracks where he's Chaka Mad?
Prince: You wouldn't like it when I'm angry.
Me: Actually, yeah. I would. |

Musical style but I wouldn't mind a little anger every now and then. |

Oh no doubt he secretly spends half of his time on here, checking out what's being said about the Mighty Purple One, but I doubt he really cares about our opinions.
He's probably one of those people who actually believes that if someone doesn't like his work - there will be thousands more who do and don't question his actions, just eat them up. |

I think he has listened a lot to his fans; fans wanted an ablum with just acoustic guitar- The truth, fans wanted an album with just acoustic piano- One Nite Alone, fans wanted songs to sound like 180s- he brought back drum machines, fans wanted electric guitar to be freatured more-Lotusflow3r.
I think he has listened a lot but he still does things his own way and I think that's good. It shows he's paying attention to his fans but still keeping his artistic integrity.
Now, how about a live album, 21 Nights from Los Angeles.......
