What do people think of Under the Cherry Moon Under the Cherry Moon has taught me that if you love someone very much you would do anything in your power to get them, Christopher never stood down he kept on trying to win Mary's heart and when he got it his ending is very tragic. This movie is very touching and especially the wrecka stow scene very funny. Christophers personality is very charming and sexy grrr! <3 R.Mulholland

UTCM taught me that it was ok to think that Prince movies are an atrocity to cinema.

Used to think it was fantastic now it's cringeworthy....although I'm
I'm always quick to point out Steve Faber and Bob Fisher must have been fans because The Wedding Crashers seems very familiar to me. UTCM,like Purple Rain and Graffiti Bridge, taught me that Prince doesn't mind portraying characters who aren't fussy about taking advantage of drunk and/or sleepy women....even if it means breaking into their bedrooms or kidnapping [Edited 5/6/11 6:27am]

I like it better than Purple Rain or Graffiti Bridge. My favorite scene is the close up while he's lying in bed. CURVES.

Its was too much of a narcisstic ego trip for Prince. He did look good though - my favourite bit is the bath scene with the strings playing, while he is talking on the phone, v hypnotic. Also love the part with Love or Money! The Rent Due scene is also funny when he pulls that funny face! It could have been much better story wise though, he didn't need to act all brattish and spoilt to be appealing! [Edited 5/6/11 9:55am]

My favorite BAD film along with "Showgirls"
Visually attractive, kick ass music score, sketchy bullshit plot line, over the top acting. Basically an escapism film that shouldn't be looked at as otherwise.

My friends came back from watching Cobra starring Stallone and told me about the coming attractions that had UTCM and had Prince doing that Girls n Boys dance on the piano...they said the audience was cracking up and booing...wrong audience to show it to ha..they came to me to clown my boy lol
I actually saw this in the theater when it came out.
One dude got out of his seat and laughed in the aisle at the scene where Prince drives up to the airport to get Mary..he kind of gets out of the car and slams the door very dramatically lol
what did I learn? that the momentum of Purple Rain was over

I wish I was there to witness the audience during the infamous "butterscotch vs chocolate" scene

The whole shit was surreal. I remember thinking ahead "I need this on vhs to watch by myself"

UTCM has taught me to totally disregard anything Prince does in terms of cinema. And i was spot on to learn that, because it saved me from taking Graffiti Bridge seriously.
UTCM is one of the crappiest movies ever made by mankind. Thereby, i also learned that there are movies in this world that NOBODY sane will watch from start to finish together with you if he or she isn't a Prince fanatic.

I think its a pretty decent film, i understand what P, the cast & crew were aiming for, they miss the target, but only by a little, This movie defintely has its moments. The bat scene was hilarious. "i aint scared of sh*t." "Not even bats?" "Bats? ahhh!!!" (somethin like that) & the honest man scene, im still not sure if i liked the character Christopher 4 him, or the fact that, ive always imagined P being some what like that in real life , or the fact he looked drop dead handsome, in them half cut shirts wit his sexy lil self "How Can I Stand To..Stay Where I Am? Poor Butterfly Who..Dont Understand." P

I actually enjoyed it much more then the Purple Rain. And I simply can't watch Graffiti Bridge, that horrible wardrobe is killing me.

I happen to love the movie. However, I do recognize that to most people, it sucks. And the plotline is dreadfully lacking. But I still love it. The fashion is better than PR and GB, (especially Mary Sharon's wardrobe... ) I love the Parade album sooo much more than PR and to me, it's just enjoyable. Prince is not an actor though, by any stretch of the imagination, so he's not very good when his characters have to do anything un-Prince-ly. time flies.
