As today lots of people seem to write about boots, what in your opinion are the 10 best-sounding boots (5 live boots, 5 studio outtakes).

I am not really that much of an expert, but I started collecting some of them back in the 80s and 90s on vinyl, and the sound was usually "limited". Biggest disappointment was a boot with just Prince on piano / guitar, and although he performed great, the sound was just baaad. And I then remember how "2nd Act that Night" - can't really recall the name now, the famous live boot from Holland with really great sound just blew me away...

So, what are - just sound-wise - your top picks?

Hope this is an allowed topic, btw...

I find the sound quality in Boots in Oxford/Marble Arch OK but the sound at the Bond Street one is a bit tinny and annoying.

For the record: I requested an upload for "The Work - 30 Years of Funk", which was rather a joke because i never heard of that particular boot. If anybody has ever seen that one, please post a pic.

A mod edited the post and put the dislcaimer there because they overreacted. There is no such bootleg as The Work - 30 years of Funk. That is a conflation of 2 titles' names. DUH.

U know....it's a pretty sad state of affairs when somebody posts on Facebook how openly hostile and catty people of the .org have become.All I had 2 do was come in2 this thread 4 her 2 b proven RIGHT !I've been visiting this place since the early days of the PPML in the mid-90s and truly felt like I was part of a family back then.We used 2 sit up all night and crack each other up in the chatroom.When the errant troll would come wandering through....we would all deal with them accordingly and the mods would handle them without incident.Now...I wouldn't send my 17 year old daughter here without an armed escort.

Most of the mods seem 2 think they work 4 Prince himself and r SO concerned about people discussing bootlegs and such that they lose focus on more personal attacks on people by the absolute dregs of the cyber -society.All the smarmy comments and callous responses were childish when "Bill" the troll popped in2 the chatroom under 1 of his many aliases 2 bash Prince and everybody involved...and it seems as though the practice is still alive and well 2 this day in the forums and chatrooms.This place has REALLY lost its way when somebody logs in looking 4 friendly conversation because they r out of work in a down economy and some random jizz mop calls them a whiny C*%T who should jump off a BRIDGE !! Be a part of the solution, then. Post and bring your own positivity to the boards. You wishing for the mods to do something and you not visiting the org or posting isn't going to do anything to bring the site back to the days of yore. It would only get worse, though I don't have the same pessimistic atttitude of this site that you do. There are still a lot of good things and people left on the org.
