its a mixed bag for me but keep in mind that his output from his mid forties until now is better than most artists that age are doing. Period. Many artists his age release albums after several years so they are able to accumulate a decent number of good songs. Others use co-writers and writers and some just stop releasing music alltogethar. Still i think he has a few nice songs on every album. 3121, for me personally, is among his 15 or so best albums. Lotus is growing on me and has some of his best guitar work ever. Musicology, 20ten, Planet Earth and even Elixir have some good songs on them. MLP sound was pretty disappointing.

As for the future, persoanally i want less religious lyrics and no self praising work lol. I'd want him to make a "raw" album, a mix of the punkish kind of sound he had with Dirty Mind and some hardrock work like Bambi, Endorphinmachine etc. A funky album would be good too
