Nice idea from a fan's perspective.

However...

I don't think you would do Prince a favour (from his point of view).

If he persued this he would have used his fanbase earlier through cryptic postings.

It costs money for the upkeep, he has to show and it's about revering him.

These items doesn't fit with him.

Not to forget , he doesn't want to walked over.

Hello everyone, just an update; we are no longer going to actively pursue the petition for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After hearing the pros and cons of this matter we have decided to discontinue. You all are very important and have value to the success of these fan sites and have such high level and importance to the success and well being of our favorite artist.

Thank you for your support as well as your understanding of our decision.

No we weren't contacted by Prince or by anyone that respresents him.

We just decided that this received so much negative response and that people expressed that Prince did not want a star. So to be respectful to him and to the other fans we decided to not actively pursue this.

No one contacted us. I personally don't like being attacked on other threads and in orgnotes. We thought there would be a more positive response, but this is the org, and with a response like this, there was no way the goal would be met. So there you have it. Stop making something out of nothing.

prince came close in 1988 in getting a star on hollywood blvd courtesy of steve fargnoli. but since there were at odds over the direction of prince's career, he scrapped the whole thing.

I found the perfect, very cheap and even salonfähig alternative for the Hollywood Walk of Fame

When we find a bunch of p fans, we might even be able to stretch his 15 seconds of fame.....when all of us give up his name and surname:
