Prince Costume Idea My mom and Prince have the same Bday, so she's having a Celebrity Look-a-like concert and of course I decided to come as Prince. What era should I go with?

Judging from your avatar, the Graffiti Bridge era would be the easiest route for you, but I doubt anyonr will know its Prince. I think you are going to have to do the Purple Rain era to get the most response. Maybe Diamonds and Pearls era will work as well. | |

Whatever you do make sure your happy with it.... We had a fancy dress at school when I was about 14 - I went as Partyman and my bestfriend at the time went as Purple Rain era Prince.....at least we thought we did  . I'll paint the picture by saying only about 5 people in the whole school(!!!) went in fancy dress - add to that my purple suit trousers and jacket didn't match and, for sone inexplicable reason, I wore my mums pixie boots to represent Princes heels (even though they were flat and black leather).My friends Prince costume was hired.....he hadn't noticed that it was actually a Pirates outfit with a pair of sunglasses - he was so chuffed with the Symbol buttons....until I pointed out they were anchors and querried why a Orince outfit would have massive buckles on his shoes. Those were happy days | |

It took him about 7 years to see the funny side of it...plus he'd gone to all the effort of carrying a massive acoustic guitar all day. Those were indeed good times...but as the man says; all good things never last | |

I went as Symbol-album Prince once, with self-made chain-hat and gun-mic. I used real chains which made the hat so heavy that I could only wear it about three minutes until my neck started to hurt. It looked great, though. See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star... |

I personally LOVED what Nicole wore for DWTS when she danced to Kiss.
70's disco pants with sparkly purple jacket!!!! White ruffle blouse like this would work (you probably need something even more ruffled; but you get the idea ;D)
Don't forget to wear purple eyeshadow, high heels....(Silver pair would go with the outfit!) Oh and Nicole actually even wore Prince's mole jlyk lol [Edited 5/1/11 12:52pm] | |

Parade era is the easiest and coolest. Black Mid drift top, bolero jacket and sombrero, and black pants. All decked out with large shite buttons.  Wore this outfit WAY back when I was skinnier and had a flatter tummy.  | |
