I think they wanted to be straight and unambiguous; the DVD hasn't been released yet, nobody knows whether it is going to be released at all. It is, in fact, an exclusive live performance, and I am pretty sure it is an excerpt from the upcoming DVD. The sound is good, it is professionally edited. Why would Prince release a clip like that just to post it on MSN? Why wouldn't he release this terrific concert on DVD? He is going to release it but at the same time he doesn't want anyone to be pressuring him about the release in case he changed his mind. But I am telling you - it is gonna be released, hopefully.

Either they talked about the DVD although they weren't supposed to (because it hasn't been officially announced yet and Prince made them change that
or Prince just decided today not to release the DVD after all, which is something I wouldn't rule out at all.

In any case, this must've been intended for DVD release at one point.
