No thanks. I say that as a fan of both - but Adam Ant, what's he doing now that's any good?

I never use the "C" word, but as soon as I read the title, that was the first thing that come into my head.

Is he out of the mental institution? Other than the fact that maybe Prince should have been in one for letting Tony M in the band, he is so far ahead of Adam Ant that I don't even understand why someone would bring it up. Adam Ant sounded fairly lame other than a few decent songs in the first place. I'd rather Prince work with Jesse Johnson, Sonny T, and Matt Fink on a new studio album.

back in the late 70s/early 80s adam ant was great though. kings of the wild frontier was an amazing album, and prince charming was pretty good too. it went all pear shaped when he split from the second incarnation of the ants. the first ants became bow wow wow

back in the early to mid 80s it seemed like adam and the ants were number 1 ever week. he was always on top of the pops. if it wasn't the videos being shown he was in the studio performing

it would be good to see him play his hits, but i worry if he will just fuck it up onstage

His slot at Live Aid (granted it was a long time ago) was terrible.

live aid was awful. instead of playing any of his big hits that people would have loved, he played his new stuff which was a pile of steaming shite. i can't remember if they even included that on the live aid boxset. led zep hated their slot with phil collins so much they refused it's inclusion on the set or even rebroadcast ever. phil wanted to walk out on them but did it so he didn't get the blame. but he did in the end. the fucking concorde riding motherfucker

Adam suffers from Bipolar Illness so cut him some slack.

It must be nice to be as perfect as you. How do you do it?

I am sure if Prince met you he would have nothing to do with you!

I would much rather see Adam and the Ants in the early 80's than Prince... Not even close.

Thank God for You Tube. I had never really listened to Adam and the Ants in full detail. After listening to around ten songs pre 1983, I can say there is a reason The Police were huge, and Adam was what he was. Adam And The Ants had more nice songs than I ever knew. They had ten big hits in the UK. Adam's voice is ok, but no true range, or anything distinctive that sets him apart like Sting, Michael Jackson, Prince, or even Colin Hay of Men At Work. "Stand And Deliver," "Prince Charming," and "Ant Music," were nice little songs...dare I say really good songs. None of them made me want to quit listening to "Annie Christian" from the same time period.

Yes, the songs were better than what I imagined. No, he's not better than Prince in any stretch of the imagination. From 1976-2011, Ant is about to release his 9th album. He's only got to record another 30 or so albums to catch up with Prince. Good Songs? Yeah, those early Adam and the Ant albums have what I would qualify as good songs...however, I'd take Men At Work, Tears For Fears, The Police, and even Duran Duran over the Ants.

For example, I've really enjoyed showing Prince fans what Terence Trent D'Arby is capable of when the spirit moves him, but have never been so crazy as to suggest he is better than Prince. If you really would take early Adam Ant over the Controversy tour, than you should probably go to the Adam Ant forums, which probably don't have too many members, so you can post something and then wait a month or so for a reply.
