Is Prince Paying Homage To The King?

We all know that since Prince has been performing "Kiss", he does a special dance segment were a main light is focused on him.

Now we all should know by know "the king" use to do a similar segment when he performed one of his classics.

Do you think Prince is paying homage or just doing it to be doing it?

Which Elvis classic are you referring to? lol

They're called spotlights, and as hard as it is to believe, they've been commonplace for a very long time. smile

I did notice this dance spotlight, which I thought was unusual for him, especially recently.

But it's not exactly michael jackson

Yeah, I think it's cool.

It puts all those rumors about him having bad hips to rest.

I posted a couple of pics on here from the MSG concert that I attended where Prince was doing some dance moves that looked very Michael Jackson-ish IMO.

But to answer your question, I don't think he is pay homage. I think he just think it looks good.

I think the thread is less likely to get locked if you want to compare Prince to Elvis...

See that's my only problem with the org. How cone we can't talk about two of the greatest musicians of all-time. It's not like I'm asking who's better like the other 300 people asked.

But oh well.

Anyone notice Prince pointing to the heavens during "Dont Stop Til You Get Enough" on the Eva video?

That made me smile even though I am NOT an MJ fan.

The title of your thread implies Prince as secondary to the "King".

Blood begins to boil before even clicking on it.

I put "the king" because I didn't won't the thread to get locked right away. I wanted a couple of answers before it gets locked. If i would've put Michael Jackson, people would've been telling mods to lock the thread.

Some Prince need to learn how to have a mature discussion about Prince and Michael.

I love Little Richard, but actually, in all truth, Elvis was more akin to being both the Prince AND Michael Jackson of his generation.

No one wants to have that discussion. Why can't you respect it? Stop trying to break the rules and take your discussion elsewhere.

Mmm, in terms of being a performer maybe, but Elvis was no musician or songwriter, and even the variety in his performances was limited.
