right now i'd be pleased as punch if he'd even change up that same ol' same ol' setlist just a little bit.
admitting, the last encore of the april 14th show looks pretty amazing. finally a small selection of something we haven't heard a gazillion times.
not sure if he'd be willing to open up paisley park again. he's done it a couple of times and is probably bored with that 'format' now. plus, he seems to be having fun, being on the road and touring america for the rest of the year, probably.
i just hope that once he's done with this tour he'll tour with something a bit more interesting next time. way more obscure material and a stripped down band that doesn't sound like a mexican carnical on acid all.the.fucking.time.

thats y i suggested open up paisley park he do some raw shows with raw prince music no covers maybe just him and piano sometimes or him and a guitare just some showcases that produces the shows we the real fans wanna hear not just the hits. i would love 2 hear do a full version of dark, dreaming about u,all my dreams,100 mph so many songs i wish he would do in a live sitting. then we could release these shows in volumes and let us buy them.

That and I think we're all old enough now to stop staring at things Prince put his finger on/in.

While you wait on Prince announcing such an event, you should download Xenophobia Vol 1 & 2. It has most of what you are dreaming of.

It's a nice thought and I'd love to see something like this come into being but, I've heard the neighbors in Chanhassen do not like when P throws the parties. Unless things changed with that. 21 Nights at the Excel or Target Center would be nice. A lot of out of towners would make their way there. I know I would, in a heart-beat.
Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

Has anyone ascertained why he named the tour "Welcome 2 America" in the first place? I mean, he's certainly American and he's not introducing a new sound into his set list.

Maybe he should just set up shop in Vegas and call it a day ... I mean he has enough sequins to last him 2 lifetimes.

To make a long story short:
Back in the days in Europe somewhere there used to be a very small club with LIVE music every night. Americans - and especially Afro-Americans - would visit this club and play and introduce the locals to a different style of music. The Americans was well received and had a good time and some even decided to stay and live on this side of the Atlantic. And that's how a lot of European musicians was educated and influenced by the (Afro)-American music tradition. Welcome 2 Europe!
Last year Prince received an invitation to this small club, along with the story above about what cultural heritage the Americans left the Europeans. He never answered the invitation. But maybe a seed was planted - and maybe he is now following the roots of that plant; seeking, questioning, finding and celebrating the American cultural heritage which really is a mix of all the people who came/comes to the US in the search for a good life. It is interesting to note that during this tour he is giving attention to (so far, and in many different ways) the Afro-Americans, Africans and Hispanic and Latino community, arts and education. Welcome 2 America!
And btw, it would make good sense if the last stop of the tour was Welcome 2 Paisley Park! Man! What I wouldn't give to experience that!! But it would cost me an arm and a trip over the Atlantic.
