Maybe this is not a great album, but some songs are very good. I really enjoy Chelsea Rodgers and Somewhere Here On Earth.

So evil girl, if one of us has a date,
With the undertaker, which one will it be?

I don't think it's that the songs are bad, I just don't think the concept works which sorta messes up the project.

The direction really makes no sense, I love Chelsea Rogers, love the video/fashion show but I just don't see how it fits the title track/concept.

When I picked up ATWIAD with the images & title I listen to the songs/music and it works, the concept, it's cohesive even the B sides, which makes even songs I might not consider as strong, really good.

I don't think the album has any sort of a "concept" behind it - "Planet Earth" is just the title track and the cover art simply reflects that.

Chelsea Rodgers is the real standout

the rest of the album is just ok, not awful, but just an average collection of pop/rock songs with some elements of modern R&b. Something that Prince hadn't done since...ATWIAD??? But the songs are just random...

6/10. It would be his worst 04-10 album, in my opinion, if not for that turd called MPLSound...

I LOVE this cd...it took me a couple of listens to fully appreciate it, and now I can't believe I missed it the first time. It has really strong songs on it and don't get the respect it deserves.. It has 6 extremely strong songs, which is more than some of his older albums have. I think he should have promoted this cd alot...especially Future Baby Mama, Mr. Goodnight, and SHOE.

1. Planet Earth-Great song, gives me a really pleasant feeling when I hear it.

2. Future Baby Mama- Excellent song, very strong song.

3. Mr. Goodnight-This song is very fun and energetic, such a bright spot in his recent music.

4. Guitar- This is a wonderful song and very fun live.

5. Somewhere Here On Earth- Beautiful ballad that is even better live.

6. Chelsea Rodgers- Very fun song, its so Prince.

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

Why is this album NOT growing on me yet?!?! I have a FEW select songs I KINDA like off this CD, but just don't "GET IT".. tonight at the bar having an afterwork drink I looked up Prince on the Jukebox and randomly played, "The 1 U Wanna C" and Actually ENJOYED hearing it, on a rather loud jukebox.. The bartender was groovin' a bit too.. and asked if it was something new by Kravitz..LOL.. I'm thinking of burning another copy of Planet Earth for the car and forcing myself a 1/2 a dozen or so listens..

I have listened to it through three times.

Will likely never be another unless I'm listening to his entire catalog by album or something.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I don't have much of a problem with this album.

It has one of the best ballads for a long time, Michael B is all over it and I find the album a much easier and more pleasant listen then 20Ten.

However, it's still not even in my top ten.

Give it another few listens, if you still don't like it, then no harm done.

20Ten I actually like.

Planet Earth is nowhere near as good.

But to each his/her own.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I like it because it reminds me of all those outtake collections we used to swap on tapes back in the day. There's a nice Dream Factory vibe on several tracks even if they are not necessarily masterpieces when taken as individual compositions. Pretty happy with it.

That remark alone makes me want to revisit it again. Almost.

Well, some of the songs also have an early-90s outtake vibe. lol

I like a lot of the songs individually, probably 75%, a few are even amongst my favourites of the 00s - But as an album, I don't really feel it. It's not very cohesive for me. It does sound like a bunch of tracks collected together, rather than 'a project'.

My feelings exactly..

It has some decent stuff, but it sounds totally random. All his albums have diversity, but this one sounds more inconsistent than diverse.

Some songs are only cute once (Mr Goodnight) some have zero depth (Guitar) some are unfinished (Planet Earth) some are ripoffs of Here Comes Santa Clause (All the Midnights) and some are weak and annoying sounding (Lion of Judah)

Maybe the best song is Future Baby Mama, and that just can't be a good thing!

hmmm I actually can't remember the last song on this album

What's the point of collecting music you don't like? If it's not listened to, it's production was a total waste.

I've been listening to Prince since 1986. I've bought all his albums. More than anything, it's a habit.

Prince was my favourite musician for a lot of years so even if he's been making garbage for years I'm still buying his albums.

It puzzles me that it's not easy to see.
